A great little 4pt series on making a holster, I loved the way Dave presented it all with his laid back attitude and with his 'on point' skills. I learnt a lot watching these videos and it's not the first videos on making a holster I've ever watched, I've watched dozens of them but this was by far the best I've watched. Everything I needed to know from designing the pattern right up to putting the finishing touches on it. Well done Dave, take a bow....you're a star !

On stitching I have found that 6 times the length gives me the needed length of thread.

The length of thread will depend on the thickness of the item plus the amount of stitches per inch. Usually 4x the length of the item will suffice. 2x may not be quite enough. Just adding my 2 cents. Al Stohlman said to always have your thread the length of your arms spread wide, no matter what you're stitching (sure helps when hand stitching belts, so you dont have 10 yards of thread between the needles...lol).

I wish I had half your skill but as an ex cabinet maker when we always kept our fingers behind the cutting edge and watching you with the round cutter Iam amazed that you still have all your fingers on your right hand. Your tutorial was great, really enjoyed it. Mike uk

Whai weight and type of thread do you recommend for hand stitching gunbelts and holsters?

Curious on glass slickers…..i see in this holster series and on other leather channels that the glass slicker has a wooden “handle” but I can’t seem to find any for sale with the wooden handle, only the glass. Are these handles just added by folks after they purchase them? I followed the link in this video to the glass slicker, and it also appears to be a piece of glass, no wooden handle. Thanks in advance. Great videos.

We should do a video on how we put our handle on. But yes it is added afterwards.

Been a while and thought I would try again to get into your site to see maybe about ordering but still can not get in. You must be losing customers or at least the chance at new ones. Heard good things but have not been able to check it out myself. :( had to check out, just to look.
