I have an MD 8000.1 and wired it to my ZV5-18 (dual 1-ohm) and for the life of me could not get it to drive the sub very well. I had a 250 amp alternator (generic-made by Lactrical) with two SQB2000 AGM batteries with 13 VDC and holding. It's in a box in the garage and never touched again. I ended up buying 2 Orion XTR2500.1 DZ's and wired them in (2-ohm per in that config) Master-Slave configuration. I' don't know where I sit on the Taramps stuff; maybe I did something wrong, but it is pretty difficult to wire this stuff wrong as the Orion's were just as easy to setup and were more than enough to make my neighbor's hate me!

Never mount amps to the box. It even says so in the manual. The vibrations cause early failure.

I’m installing my first subs and Amps tomorrow I have dual 2 12s by skar and the 1200W amp, and I have a 2016 wrx the size of the box is huge and takes up almost all of my trunk but that’s not my question my question is can I mount my amp directly to the back of the box without any future issues ? I’ve read the direct bass can cause issues

amp should always be in a spot with good air flow and minimal vibration, box isn't a good idea unless last resort.

Things I find wrong… Dude uses a 1/0 power and 4 on ground, amps are mounted to box, using duck tape on the port, using a Brazilian amp, probably isn’t grounded properly either.
