Looking back at my mastectomy now, I have a lot of clarity, but a month before my surgery I had no idea what I would wish for today. I'm sharing this super personal and unexpected part of story so that others can have one more surprising perspective on what they're future self might possibly want. Disclaimers: My story is highly influenced by not wanting implants, having large breasts to begin with, and not having a lot of emotional attachment or image attachment to my breasts. (Remember to consult with your doctor about risk factors before making ANY decisions about mastectomy!)
