Basically it just lays out the functions of the footswitches and gives them their own dedicated switch(I realise this is not 100%,but it sums up the midi maestro's function) and allows you to skip to any part of the song on the fly. While I would find it more user friendly than the beatbuddy+footswitch setup it isnt enough of an upgrade to justify another $300. Navigating the Beatbuddy using the footswitch has become second nature and the maestro just doesnt bring enough new features for the price. Singular Sound needs to throw their customers a bone once in a while. I've already bought a Beatbuddy Mini,a Beatbuddy and a footswitch. They could give us some drum kits as well as some songs once in a while.

Holy smokes this thing is awesome! I have been getting used to the beat buddy with additional foot switch but every once in a while I’ll have an issue with transitioning parts in the moment and this thing would make it a hell of a lot easier. Especially with the being able to jump around from part to part out of the original order. Very well done video!

Not sure if it was an firmware update but I just pressed the tempo and drum set buttons down on the beat buddy together and in the menu is a selection Font Size where I can change the font size to Extra large on the beat buddy without the midi maestro. I tried entering the folders through the midi maestro as well like you showed and it is very useful having the font that large just by pushing a button with your foot. Really good demo👍

Nice video man! one thing that I would comment it is also possible make the big front on beat buddy by default. However it's really cool to know that I can use both at the same time if I have the midi maestro. Keep it up!

Hello Pedal Guy…..new subscriber here and love your channel. Your videos are professional and easy to follow along with. So thanks for the great content. I do have a few questions for you and respect your opinion so really appreciate any advice you can give me. I bought a beat buddy with the beat buddy pedal and a Digitech Trio + with pedal about 6 years ago. Unfortunately I was in a very bad accident and had to take a 6 year hiatus from music. I am finally healthy again and can start playing and having fun. I am an old cat and turn 60 in 3 days so really need to buy the right gear and figure out what I need. Both pedals are brand new and still in boxes so never had a chance to learn either one and want to get your opinion on best setup for a busking rig with a looper as I dig playing outside. I also dig playing blues/rock without a looper and have a Yamaha THR30ii so I can Bluetooth the backing tracks to amp and just I read about the xsonic pedal that can wirelessly control the channel switching on the THR so I have that rig figured out. But my confusion is how to setup a busking rig for live looping and not sure what pedals you would recommend. I watched your videos on the Trio + and you sounded great. That is a dope cool pedal with its built in looper and how it creates a bass & drum arrangement. I also dig the Aeros looper and because I already own the beat buddy I am thinking I may be better off getting the Aeros and the MIDI Maestro. Looking to have the best tone possible and of course the most fun. It seems to me like I would need something like a Line 6 Pod or Line 6 Pod Go to front end a looper in order to have a pallet of different tones to use and than run that setup into an amp like the Roland Street Cube EX on a clean setting and use the Pod for different tones versus the channel switching on the Yamaha. I would also need a power bank with an AC connection which I would mount on pedal board to power up all the pedals. Does this make sense to you? I will not be able to carry a bass guitar with me so if I was to use the singular setup, what type of pedal would you recommend to lay down bass lines. Would an octave box be the right choice or are there new pedals that can give a guitar player a bass like sound? Been out of the game for 6 years so truly a tad confused what pedals & gear is needed to make this happen. Would I still use the beat buddy foot switch if I buy a midi meastro? I have room on pedal board but not sure if that’s even needed. And I realize I can also use the Yamaha THR30 on clean channel for looping rig but the Roland Street cube EX may be the better choice with its clean channel and better speaker. I trust whatever you recommend. Sorry for such a long post but I have been out of the game for 6 years and getting old so want to get this right and not waste time or money buying the wrong gear. Nice, Scott... Does the Beat Buddy have any individual 1/4" outs, so that you'd be able to individually route out certain timbres/parts? It's a gorgeous box. Scott, you are excellent with all things tech....great facility with the gear and the ability to convey this information in an accessible way. The MM is so beautiful. I believe it would give my Behringer FCB1010 a run for its money....Does the MM have CC pedal input ports? I assume you can directly program BB user defined patches/patterns via the MM, right? Hey Pedal Guy I'm getting the Midi Maestro for my Beatbuddy and plan on using it with my Headrush Looperboard, which is due for long awaited firmware update, coming soon. My question is how would I hookup the midi chain between said products? The Looperboard, I'm assuming is the master or would it be the BB? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Great video! But does it sound like a handclap? I'm not sure if I need the MidiMaestro, expensive as it is. I also start to get bored of my BeatBuddy, just because the sounds are too bass-heavy, and the hihat/ cymbals are weak. In transition mode the cymbal is even weaker (opposite as it should be). I have not yet got into the Editor site though

My breakout cable is on backorder... I didnt realize one end was large and one on the buddy was smaller..

Is there a longer connecting cable so that I can put my Beat Buddy on my mixing table and not have to bend over all the time to select songs? Just use the Maestro for all the functions? Thanks

What if you what to pause the beat during song play then bring the drums back in without the intro and outro fills. Like with the cheaper Footswitch. Seems like the left out that button selection. Fine if you already purchased the footswitch back before the maestro can out but I purchased the maestro only along with my beatbuddy with the assumption that this expensive midi controller would do everything the footswitch did plus more.
