When Kim, So Hyang sings, she never takes on a patronizing attitude. She never forces us. Rather, she always tries to empathize with us, offering unconditional love. If there should be only one word to define her music, that must be "Love". She always talks about Love and embodies it singing a song. Love is what she's all about. And, in her Love, there is no place for judging and pushing. So we only have to listen and enjoy her blessing of Love without any pressure. I love how you analyze Sohyang singing techniques! I would strongly recommend to start with English song covers then move on to Korean songs. That way it would be much easier for you to analyze her vocal. Sohyang is the queen of mix and belt. This is one of her top five performances for most people. This was my introduction to her about 4 years ago now, I was hooked. I suggest "Arirang Alone" from Immortal Songs 2 next this is a beautiful Korean cultural song.

fyi when she went to LA, Seth Riggs, a famous vocal coach who worked with Michael Jackson. She really ran into him and learned 'Nei Nei Nei' first and learned how to sing mixed voice that's why she's so good

Its kind of a big misconception that she does all of these arrangements.. these songs that got popular on youtube wasn't of her making. At the beginning of each song there is a graph (1.22 in this video) that says 작시곡 = songwriter (Paul Simon) and 편곡 = Arranger and most of the songs are credited to 황성제, Hwang Seong-je. He is an awesome composer!

I am a fan of another excellent female vocalist who also started at a young age, and who was invited by One Night For One Drop to perform Bridge Over Covered Water at their March 2013 fundraiser in Las Vegas.
