I think he is second behind Cruyff. He won Barca their first European cup and the only one without Messi. He won 4 Spanish titles in 8 years at Barca which isn’t on Sir Alex’s level but equals the same ratio of 1 title every 2 years. What makes Cruyff better though in my opinion is that he was the man behind La Masia as well as reinstating Ajax as one of the best youth systems in the world. As a result of Cruyff’s actions as manager of both Ajax and Barca both youth academies produced the core group of both the Dutch and Spanish side that played in the World Cup final in 2010. Not only that Ajax have become the best Dutch side as a result of their strong youth recruitment in the years after Cruyff left. Since cruyff has left Barca they have had their most successful period in their clubs history largely thanks to La Masia that he set up. Cruyff’s total football is also the main influence behind the most successful manager of this decades tactics in Guardiola. Even though Sir Alex has a bigger trophy cabinet, cruyff legacy is far greater and his ideas on how a club should be run and how football should be played will probably be the inspiration behind countless more world class managers.

@@ljg7911 Jones and Smalling were the subs. Ferdinand and Evans started most the games. Smalling and Jones started less than Vidic as well. Also had Rooney and RVP up front and Berbatov who couldn’t get a game and Hernandez off the bench. Very strong midfield albeit it old. It’s hardly a poor team is it

Guy was successful trophy wise, but was quite the degenerate bully of officials and pretty much anyone else that crossed him be it player or opposing managers. Ask his greatest captain about him. There have been and are greater managers than him here, greater men too. Lest we forget he recommended Moyes to be his replacement, lest we forget he told a reporter 'you dont wanna score more than 8' when he beat Arsenal 8-2 in the season he lost the league on GD.

I miss hating Man United. I miss them being the biggest game of the season for every club. I miss sticking it to the Man U fans the few times my club beat theirs. I even miss secretly rooting for them when they were the last English club in the Champions League.

This man prevented me from going through depression during my school days. He made me fall in love with Man United and gave me a community of friends, who always united with one another during match days to forget about what else was going on with our lives. Our fanbase was as united as our team on the pitch. No matter who played, we knew we would get at least an average performance from that player. There wouldn't be a need for any fan cams or fan channels, as we all would be having the same opinion after every match day. Looking at it now, it shows how much has changed. Our fans are divided like America, our players get scapegoated and thrown under the bus every week, Our manager, even though he tries his best, could never replicate what this legend has done. I really hope one day, we can get back to some sort of glory as a United fan.

SAF was the gaffer. The way he built and managed teams was second to none. Always set the standards sky high and demanded respect from everyone. Kudos to him, he instilled confidence in his players and won everything. He's an absolute legend and it'll be a long time until we see the likes of him again.

Manchester United vs Liverpool....the greatest sport rivalry and spectacle in professional sport.....love to hate each other but deep down a mutual respect that transcends generations.....same could be said for Fergie vs Klopp.....I think Klopp is the best man manager in the world today......Fergie is the best ever....Klopp has a long way to go before taking that title.....but could you imagine them facing off on a cold December afternoon

Most impressive thing that he did..for me..Was to constantly rebuild and reinvent teams.. Reinvent tactics to fit new team..From a 4-4-2 in the 90's..won everything..4-3-3 in the 2000's ..won everything...I absolutely HATE Man Utd with an extreme passion as a Liverpool fan but BY GOD do i respect this man and how he dominated.
