The was Beckham in his prime. I remember his performance against Greece in a crucial WCQ, and Beckham worked extremely hard to keep England in the match, and then scored that last minute Free-kick so that England qualified for the 2002 World Cup.

I'm now 40 years of age & that year was my first season ticket which was when Glenn hoddle first came back & managed the club. Me & my mate sitting up in the shelf couldn't believe we was 3-0 up at half time against utd! Then we got spanked In the second half & after the match it proper kicked off with both fans aswell. I remember a spurs fan running into the away exit where all the utd fans were waiting to come out & he got completely ironed out then all hell broke lose. I'll never forget that day!

A huge amount of stuff to take note of here - never forget how great Beckham was. United have had a habit of signing great players at the end of their careers ( Blanc). Gary Neville was much, much better than given credit for. etc etc Oh, and Glenn Hoddle was tactically inept!!

The only weakness in Beckham's game was what he claimed he was a specialist at ... free kicks. The percentage he scored from was very small. Otherwise, the greatest crosses of the ball in the Premiership to date.
