A great track, a magnificent song. I was listening this from Radio Luxembourg in 1965 and was very fond of it. However, this record got no specific attention in Finland in those days, it wasn't popular at all if I remember right. But I loved it, a very simple number but containing so much in those great days at the age of 16 and 17 years young...! ❤ 🕵🏻🎶😃🎶👍👍👍

I WELL RECALL THIS HIT SONG FROM 1965 WRITTEN BY DOUG SAHM (1941-1999). I LIKED IT AND STILL DO, ALTHOUGH I NEVER BOUGHT THE 45RPM, DIDN'T REMEMBER WHO THE BAND WAS AND DON'T RECALL EVER HEARING ANOTHER RECORDING BY THIS GROUP, THAT ORIGINATED IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS IN 1964, AND ONLY REMAINED ACTIVE FOR 9 YEARS, DISBANDING IN 1973. THIS SONG WAS MORE POPULAR OUTSIDE OF THE USA, SELLING OVER 3 MILLION COPIES IN EUROPE ALONE. THE RECORDING WAS UNFORTUNATELY RECORDED WHEN RADIO STATIONS WANTED SHORT RECORDINGS OF AROUND 2:25. THE RECORDING WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE IMPRESSIVE IF IT HAD FEATURED A LONG INSTRUMENTAL BRIDGE WITH VIRTUOSIC VARIATIONS AND EMBELLISHING RIFFING WITH THE MELODIES, ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE WAS NOTHING PROFOUND ABOUT THE SHORT, REPETITIVE LYRICS. PERHAPS THEY RECORDED OR AT LEAST PLAYED A MORE SATISFYING ELONGATED VERSION IN LIVE SHOWS. (THERE IS A LIVE SHOW VIDEO OF THIS SONG ON THE BRANDON BARRES CHANNEL THAT IS WELL WORTH WATCHING.
