Look up the words genius, legend, and class and if a photo of Sir Henry Cecil isn't beside all 3 of those words it damn sure should be!! There's never been a better trainer or horseman on either side of the Atlantic and there never will be, IMO. RIP Sir Henry, for you truly were all that made the sport great.

Cecil was a true gentleman, humble with absolutely no ego. For a man who was so successful in the racing world, he never once chattered on about his success. A great man whom I look up to!

He triumphed and he suffered and he lived a very full life. Tragedies and personal pain did not bring him down. He seemed to use his challenges to truly learn from them. No one could have deserved his final years with Frankel so much. I hope he died contented for he will be sorely missed and revered. He leaves behind a legacy to other trainers in his techniques and attitudes, He leaves behind a memory of his way with horses and his kindness to people for his fans.

Always brings a tear to my eye. A great man. I have fond memories of being shown around his yard with my family. Henry showed us his toy soldiers in Warren place and gave us some Melon from his greenhouse to try. I have a lovely photograph with him. My racing hero. A great great man

so sad, what a loss to the racing world, but with sadness comes joy with all that sir henry cecil did. may you rest in peace, god bless. i think people should ask a trainer to name a horse after sir henry as they did with the mighty frankel. lets see a big thumbs up to that! like if you agree.

I was at Cheltenham years ago when a journalist asked Henry Cecil about his time 'studying' in Gloucestershire & whether he frequented jumping's HQ. "I'm not entirely sure", came the reply "It was the 60s after all".

Henry Cecil and Frankel are the best combinations. Originally trained Tempering who went on to be a Southwell Specialist.

Henry’s careful consideration and skill as a trainer meant Frankel was steered in the right direction. He cared for the horse. Other trainers might have made the wrong decisions and put him in the wrong races and not have had the success. It was karma.

Very sad to hear of his passing. I may be an aussie racing fan, but I know what he was to the UK racing scene, and what he was to Royal Ascot, and I'm sorry for your loss. Like his wonder horse Frankel, you will be blessed if you live to see another as great or that can even compare. RIP SHC.
