The Lion of Bombay
Sir Pherozeshah Merwanjee Mehta, Knight Commander of the Indian Empire (4 August 1845 - 5 November 1915) was an Indian politician and lawyer from Bombay.
For his ferociousness when it came to governing the city and for his bold speeches, he earned the title "Lion Of Bombay" & "Ferocious Mehta"
He became the Municipal commissioner of Bombay Municipality in 1873 and its President four times - 1884, 1885, 1905 and 1911.
Mehta was one of the founding member and President of the Indian National Congress in 1890.
