About SIREN:
“Siren” takes us inside Bristol Cove-a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean. The series stars Alex Roe (“The 5th Wave”) as Ben, a bright marine biologist who finds himself drawn to a mysterious new girl in town, Ryn, played by Eline Powell (“Game of Thrones”), who is a strange young woman with a deep dark secret. Fola Evans-Akingbola (“An American Exorcism”) stars as Maddie, also a marine biologist who works with Ben, and is highly suspicious of Ryn. Ian Verdun (“Life’s a Drag”) stars as Xander, a deep sea fisherman on a quest to uncover the truth; and Rena Owen (“Star Wars” Episodes II and III) as Helen, the town eccentric who seems to know more about the mermaids than she lets on. Based on a story by Eric Wald and Dean White who both serve as executive produces. Emily Whitesell (“Finding Carter”) is on board as Showrunner and Executive Producer. Brad Luff, Nate Hopper and RD Robb are also attached as executive producers.

I dont know if anyone noticed, but they both played extras in game of thrones. Eline Powell played a stage actor playing the role of Sana stark where Arya was training to be no one and Fola Evans Akingbola played one of the wives of the Khal who kidnapped Danaerys.

Since for once mermaids/sirens/whatevertheyare are portraited as animals that look like humans more than like humans that look partially animals I would rather for once having no mermaid x human ship but this scene was so beautiful and intense that I have to admit the more I look it the more I ship them.

I was so pissed off when Calvin and Xander got mad at Ben and tried to beat him up for borrowing the sound tracker, because if Ben didn't dive into the water, no one would ever know it was there. Ben had the right to be able to see what it meant and what it was. He dived in the water knowing it was unsafe and found a piece of military equipment that can be investigated by him and the crew. Calvin and Xander should have realized that Ben found it...No one else...he had a right!!! #TeamBen #Siren

How is a Siren song different from a mermaid besides the happy singing and all that?

Sirens are traditionally cunning and dangerous and use their singing and looks to manipulate people (for example trick sailors to run their ships aground to drown them). Mermaids are often nicer in the stories. We don't really know how Ryn's abilities work but there is apparently some kind of hypnotic effect to her song.

Yeah, even though they call her a mermaid. They try to protect her because they work with protecting sea creatures and she goes along with them because they have promised to help find her sister. But they still don't really understand how dangerous she is.

Black Cat , yup and that’s what exactly happened to those shows u listed, they took a huge nosedive in quality, eventually the writers for those shows started catering towards the shippers instead of focusing on good writing; I hope for the sake of this show, which is really good right now don’t start trying to make the shippers happy for sake of a good story down the line. Fingers crossed; but like u said they are a very loud majority. I hope they don’t try with this show.

I understand the sensuality between every characters and Ryn or her sister because they're sirens so they can fuck with your mind. But that should defenitly not be the main part of the story.
