Got this antenna almost 1 year ago. Due to obstacles and trees ,power lines , it was a headache. Eventually got her up on my 10m tower 2 days ago. SWR is flat from 27.100Mhz to 27. 850.Mhz . 10m elevation . DX reports on 27.555 Into Northern Europe from my QTH in Thailand 5/9 bear foot on 100w pep. The gain on receive is phenomenal compared to a 5/8th wave vertical.. Big Bang for the buck.. Very impressed with this budget yagi...

The Sirio did have good ears, I went to the Maco because it is a larger beam , and is a little better on TX / RX, I also added the Sirio gamma match to the Maco and a one piece boom. I believe the more aluminum you have in the air the better it is, but the Sirio is a great beam and I talked all over the US on it with only 500 watts. I gave the beam to a friend of mine and he has it about 60 up and it really performs ! Is it better than the Maco.....? Depends on different factors and conditions at your location, nevertheless it is a great beam. It’s small and light so it does not need a large rotor, and it holds up to strong winds. I’m building a Maco 6 element vertical and horizontal beam to replace my 4 element beam, it has a 31 foot long boom so it will outperform the 4 element beams. The Sirio is a great beam and if you get one you will definitely like it, just try to put it at least 32 feet high, I keep my beams at around 45 feet. Going higher than that does not gain anything until you get over 72 feet. Use RG 213 or LMR 400 coax and you’ll set your SWR as low as possible and you’ll really get out with no problems to your radio. 73’, 875.

I’m curious how your ears were on this antenna? Which I know it’s not going to be as good on the Flatside for local

Have you tried it with local contacts and how does it compare to your vertical for local contacts? 73

Most people who have a flat side beam only use it for skip that's what I plan on doing they usually have a vertical for local
