Round 2 with the Sirius Phoenix bolts (www.siriusarch..., this time we're shooting broadheads! On our Ripper 415, we decided to try the Magnus Black Hornet Ser-Razor 125 grain head. The PSE Invictus, we tried the Cutthroat 150 grain single-bevel (right hand bevel). Think they'll fly true? Better watch and find out!

I have good success with my 205 draw wait 350 feet per second PSE Fang. I use blood line bolts and Muzzy 100 grain 3 blade. I also pitched the junk scope and put a simple Tasco red dot shotgun scope on my crossbow I got a 3 inch group at 30 yards. I always see videos of people using the expensive stuff but if you get the right combination the less expensive stuff works just as well. I also have tried the Allen brand 100 grain 3 blade and they hold up pretty good too I like muzzy because they are super sharp a bit more expensive than the Allen brand but honestly both fly straight and true

I dont remember which video this was said but someone said research has shown that crossboxs prefer 200 grains total up front. Can someone clarify what you meant. I might have to start over if that is true.

Here's our original video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aal4fbSdnLnaZJ8.html 200 grains up front would be the weight of the insert + point. With what we've seen, 200 grains up front seems to be but most bolts like, however it depends on the bolt. Shoot your bolts thru paper and play with different nock positions and weight, you'll find a combo that works for your bolts! If you're looking to buy new bolts, highly recommend the Sirius Phoenix.

They are shooting lower because the broadhead arent as aerodynamic and have more surface area than a field point. This slows the bolt down and is the reason why its shooting lower. Always sight in your bow with the broadheads you plan to hunt with after you get the scope close using a field point. Use your speed ring to adjust up or down and your other ranges should be close.

The outer weave on the shaft makes the spine very consistent. I did nock tune, but it the best fletching vs worst fletching difference was very small.

How bad is it to dig those magnus broadheads out of your shooting medium?

Are you shooting larger than recommended bolts for your crossbow? The Phoenix bolts are 22" and the Ripper 415 uses only 20" bolts. :-|

Yes, we are shooting 22” bolts out of the Ripper (and all of our crossbows first that matter). You can shoot longer bolts out of your bow, just can't shoot shorter ones.

Adjusting the scope was confusing to watch. Adjusting the scope ring speed first and not the windage or elevation Tourette’s. Unless the scope does not have a speed ring on it.
