I absolutely agree, George. She is so humble that the vast majority of people in the states still have never heard of her. She is also incredibly empathetic. Talented isn't even the word. I've been listening to her for 30 years now and consider her to be the one of the top female vocalists of all time. Right next to another that no one has ever heard.. Judith Durham. Ironically she's not of the states, either. Judith has the same type of humble, empathetic personality. Sissel and Judith have probably never met though but I'm certain they know of one another's work. Please listen to Judith's "500 miles" she was part of the Australian group "The Seekers".

For me the real difference here is, of all the great female voices there are and then, (when Siss did this concert), fabulous voices in fabulous bodies, she is the only one to make me chaste and have no lascivious thoughts towards her. I am noble and thoroughly decent in the presence of her voice & personal aurora.

Same thoughts. KZfaq let me find her and enjoy. Never heard voice like her.

Moose, you are sort of correct. She didn't grab her opportunity to be world famous, apropos American famous. She turned the offer down because as she says here, "family, friends and home" are more important. They wouldn't have to offer me anything like 18 million dollars to sell my soul. But then I'm not Sissel.

Sissel is just... Sissel. She sings in 15 languages. Such a humble person that this world is blessed with.

She's like a syzergy... an unlikely alignment of all the planets... every form of beauty heaped into one individual.

I envy you that lovely moment of discovery (mine was 4 years ago). Her voice is so precious that it astonishes like a work of art at first sight.

I think evryone will have in his life sooner or later the first time he heard sissel and if you love music you will be change in this moment.. the first time that you hear someone that can and does sings directley from your own ❤️...

I think that why not evrybody knows her yet. She is a singer of the heart and only now we are on the time that the hearts awakes.. she arrived to open our hearts.. and she does it wonderfully.

Sid, luckily you've made it. It's only a few years ago that I came across an astonishing voice singing Solveig's Song (a favorite of mine since I was a wee lad) I found out she was Sissel and there was lots of her delightful singing on KZfaq, from age 13 to 52. Many happy hours have I spent since.

Being Danish and her Norwegian,well we are almost related,she used to be married to a Danish man so she speaks very good Danish! Anyways,she must be a wonderful soul,look in her eyes when she sings,there is pure Light,I call her a Lightbringer! All the very best to you!
