I saw your video about your locktitian cutting your locks on the sly. I have been doing Sisterlocks since 2013. Your hair was not cut. Cuts are clean and do not have ragged parts. It looks like your hair was SHREDDED. This is why slippage must be prevented as much as possible. The repair for slippage often requires the "combing down " and condensing of all the remaining locked hair then redoing the rest of the hair. If slippage is due to bunching and is caught early, this can be achieved with minimal damage. (Imagine having knots and tangles in loose hair and trying to push them all down to the end of your hair so that they form a tight column) If slippage is due to use of conditioner, oils, hair color, or sweat or too much water, the hair may just loosen in spots. ALL the hair must be combed down. Some locktitians are very rough as they move the loose locks down. Careful repairs take time. If the consultant rushes or combs delicate or fine hair down with a fine tooth comb , she will literally start tearing your hair out. Repairing slippage can be damaging if not done patiently. The results are locks hanging in pieces by just a few hairs at the tip. It is not snagging, a shredded lock will have a lock above, a few hairs dangling then a part of the lock below. At that point, the lock must be either cut or sewn back on. In new locks, it is usually cut. This is why hair maintenance is critical. Bunching and slippage can lead to bumpy, lumpy, poorly formed locks that often must be combed down if not hardened. I once had a locktitian shred/cut 7 of my locks. My hair was between 12 and 14 inches locked. After shredding, those locks were cut down to around 2 inches in some cases. 4 were shredded by my locktitian, the other 3 she deliberately cut because she hated my curly cue ends and wanted to see if they would seal if she cut into the mature lock. They did not. I ended up with shorter, open ended coily locks. No conditioner or oil on your hair. No moisturizers, no lifted color until your hair is locked. If you jump the gun, the price is usually a lot of slippage. My slippage was from using too much water when daily moisturizing my locks. I fired my consultant too.
