My daughter (a recent convert to Arne & Carlos Land) and I watched the first episode and loved it. She is undergoing chemo for cancer and is allowed to visit us, so we have been knitting birds and making prosthetic legs and feeling very amused. Your charm, humor, and kindness have kept company with us as we also watch past videos about making birds, visiting sheep in Lofoten, and making Christmas balls. Thank you for contributing to her journey returning to health!

Hej Arne og Carlos I Was told that the reason English and the Scandinavian languages share so manny words are caused by the viking influence on England. And most of the words shared are the ones for stock, household items and family member mand=man viv=wife vindue =window kniv= knife Kat=cat hund=hound ect. The v and the f are similar sounds 😊 so mabe the word of the day should be a scandinavia word used as a loan word. I know that the Norwegians are so good to make Norwegian words like netbredt and Danes just take the English one because we don't have the examination to make up our own word's 😣 Love the show Keep safe

I laughed more in these 36 minutes than I have in a long time. You two are getting better and better at doing these. Two beautiful, sweet souls. In these troubled times around the world (and this horrific election season in the U.S.), it's so comforting to see beauty, positivity, creativity, goodness and most of all love, take the spotlight. Thank you both so much.

I loved when you talked about your favourite books and current reading during the quarantine podcasts. As a non-gardener, I love enjoying other people's gardens so I'm looking forward to seeing yours and your "flat" gardener. Right Arne...NO RISKS!!! Staying home is not a hardship when going out can be so problematic. Thanks for being so honest about your health. People need to learn what the results of Covid 19 can be. We're definitely not out of this pandemic yet. I really look forward to seeing how you pack your traditional costume when you finish the whole ensemble, and of course seeing you next May wearing them. Your ABBA digression had me laughing out loud. Love it. HUgs from Canada.

Greetings from Canada! This particular episode made me giggle out loud as I too love ABBA and especially the ABBA songs Arne was referring to. And you gave a "shoutout" to dear Oh, Canada for our healthy and overly friendly mosquitoes. Your podcasts kept me busy throughout the lockdown and helped me rediscover my lost talent of knitting. Thank you!!

I love that you have continued with this series again with a new name. I also love ABBA so it was so much fun to have Arne putting song lyrics in like he did. This style is just so much fun because I feel like I'm getting to know the real Arne and Carlos and not the edited "stage" version. Your bantering back and forth is fantastic. I love the new poppy block. I'm still working on my Thorvald sweater. I have two or three posts on my instagram showing my progress. I am Katgo716 on instagram and I tagged you. I hope you have a chance to see it because making the blocks helped me enough with my colorwork so that I was confident enough to make my first colorwork sweater. Thank you so much for the lovely pattern and for helping me learn how to do the colorwork. I'm very proud of my sweater. Until next time, hugs and love from Maryland.

Sit and unravel with Arne and Carlos, because that's what I am doing right now, ripping up a huge crochet mandala called Sophie's Universe, because the colour combination I chose made me want to poke my eyes with a crochet hook. I am so thrilled to sit and knit with both of you! Carlos, I can so relate to your lung problem. I learned in 03 that apparently all my life I have probably had 75% of lung capacity. This was due to my fathers heavy smoking. It explained why I have so much trouble at altitude, which has become worse as I aged. Today I am really feeling it because for 4 days we have had heavy forest fire smoke in our valley. (I live in Wenatchee WA and took your classes when you were here the second time. I knit Portuguese style and had just learned it then. You both really helped me!) Sorry for digressing. Anyway I understand how it feels not to be able to breath like you used to be able to breath. I do hope you return to full capacity! Arne, you got a hair cut! Your curls are gone! I just love your unique enthusiasm about life. I have become very emotional on thinking back on this year today. Such a strange year that only seems to get stranger by the week for me. A present it is a bit overwhelming. But it have learned from you both the sit down and knit it will be better. Thank you

Oh, my goodness! I can’t tell you how happy I was to wake up this morning and see Sit & Knit a Bit Episode 1 sitting at the head of my KZfaq queue! Woo-hoo! I am currently knitting the Vanilla Sweater from the Woolly Thistle. This is my first top down sweater. I chose this particular pattern because it has a better chance of fitting well because of how it is built, in such a way that it mimics a bottom up neckline. We shall see! I have really, really missed the quarantine podcasts. I have been in “stay in place” mode since the last week of February seeing as I am 70 with high risk health issues. P.S. Hello Arne! Hello Carlos! What a delight it is to sit out in your gorgeous garden with you again. 😍 Your 'dogma' conversation is entertaining and engaging. I'm looking forward to meeting Rob! 😀 Over the summer, I knitted my first pair of baby booties, my first hat and my first scarf - these are part of the Christmas gifts I'm making. I have limited energy, so I needed to start early to get any of them finished in time. For my own, I recently started to practice Tunisian crochet; although, I dont have an actual Tunisian hook, I've been making small 16 stitch squares using a basket weave pattern on my regular5.5 mm crochet hook. It's working out well! Using leftover yarn, I think I can make some interesting items with the squares - a scarf, a cushion or pillow cover, a cardigan , a ruana or a throw blanket. Oh the possibilities abound! 😃 It is good to hear that although you've both been physically impacted by coronavirus, you are sharing your experiences of not only how it has affected you but also how the preventative measures you are taking are working out for you. Its first hand experiences such as yours that can help instill the seriousness of this virus into those who still refuse to understand. It makes my heart feel that much lighter to hear and see you both ❤ You've done fantastic work on your costumes. It will be fun to see your boxes Arne! 😃 The newest addition to the knitted colourwork squares is a lovely design and motivates me to pick that project back up! Thank you, my generous, creative virtual friends! 🥰 And for Arne: It seems that Lofoten was your 'Summer Night City'(Voulez-Vous · 1979); although we didn't hear you sing, 'Thank You for the Music', (The Album · 1977). Until we meet again, 'So Long' (ABBA · 1975) 💃🕺💃🕺💃💃🕺

English has the word 'kist', which means the same as 'chest', that is, a big box. The 'k' is pronounced like the 'k' in 'key'. I inherited a beautiful carved kist from my grandfather, it is about 1m x 50 cm x 50 cm. I think the word may have come into the English language from Old Norse but I may be wrong. I've been knitting socks for the holidays, and soon I'll start a shawl. I am so pleasantly distracted from the world outside when I sit and watch the two of you. You have wonderful energy and you're so funny, candid, sweet, and respectful of each other--it's refreshing!

The podcast was “A trip down memory lane”. That was GREAT 👏 More like those would be nice. Honestly though, whatever you do is much appreciated and I know will be just amazing 😍 Oh! And we all say stupid things from time to time so no worries there 😉 Oh Carlos, I’m so sorry to hear that you are still suffering the effects of COVID. I’m so happy to hear that you are taking extra care, please do. I know it doesn’t matter but you look amazing and healthy. I wish you both all the best Have you thought of making those KZfaq Premier podcasts? That would be fun too! We could all watch the podcast at the same time when it drops and we could have a live chat! That would be AWESOME 😎

I got the notification in the morning before starting work and this was my "end of the day" treat that I was looking forward to all day - and what a great treat it was! I have the biggest smile on my face now and the day's annoyances are just a distant memory. Thanks so much! PS re: content - I love your natural, "what we did this week, what we're working on, UFOs" topics. Also: what's going on with porridge-gate and did you ever find the Christmas tree after that wind storm?

Loved this format! Honestly, you could talk about making a grocery list and I would be entertained! I sitting here thinking about your long stockings....if I were to knit such a thing, there would surely be at least one mistake in it. In fact, I think there's always a small mistake in everything I make. This lead to me to wonder if you make mistakes? When and how do you fix them? I always know when it's something I can live with or not. I am working on a top down raglan cardigan and I missed one increase and did not rip back to fix it, I just added one stitch under the arm to compensate. So, at some point, would you consider discussing mistakes in your knitting and how/when you go about fixing them in a theoretical way...not a tutorial? I am currently knitting Cardigan No. 7 by My Favourite Things Knitwear in Isager alpaca and Sandnes Garn mohair. Thank you! Much affection, Jonna

Oh guys, how lovely to have a visit. We are still sheltering in place in California, from the virus and the fires. So any video showing a different scene than out our window, and any chatting is a gift. My husband's family is from near Stavanger so I enjoy learning little bits of the history and language.

If you can make more of those it would be awesome 👏 Loved your vacation podcasts. Thanks for making them 🥰

So glad to see you again, and such a treat to see your beautiful garden as a backdrop! I am a widow with grown children and just realized today that in a few days it will be six months now since I have been within six feet of another living creature (no pets due to allergies). I began watching you with the Quarantine Knitting podcasts and because of you have become more confident with colorwork knitting and have since then knit a beautiful colorwork sweater for myself. Thank you so much for all you do! Your beautiful spirits are so uplifting. ❣️ I look forward to your podcasts and pray that you will soon both have been restored to your previous robust good health.

Most recoveries take 18 months. And your lungs will recover. Not over juicing is a great idea. Carotenes and other colours can help rejuvenate the eyes, lungs and liver. But of course check with your MD. And you are living in a great environment. Also organic cleaners are important! Looking so forward to your sit and knit a bit. Thank you for this. So important for us all.❤️
