I couldn't realise that is real... I discovered you, Kate, a week ago and like Arne, bingewatched your KZfaq videos since than... And now I listen to my "old KZfaq friends" (I like your videos so so much Arne and Carlos) and what a surprise to hear them speak about you. I wished your both houses were closer. I'm sure you would have a million things to tell to eachother and so many beautiful handmade works to share. Thank you Kate, thank you Arne & Carlos for lightening our days, especially on these troubled times. Thank you.

Have you looked at Kate’s channel - The Last Homely House? If not, do have a look, I’m sure that you’ll enjoy it. She has a new granddaughter, Agnes, who is the recipient of many of Kate’s creations. She’s a very warm lady based in Northumberland, UK, and a wonderful teacher!

I meant to write this sooner--right after you "sit and knit..." when you talked about Kate and her Last Homely House channel. It was a delight to hear you talk about her and share how wonderful you found her channel. AND, Kate was thrilled with your shout out about her and the LGS. It was heartwarming to see how surprised and happy she was to learn that you had done that. Such a boost to her as she is slowly making her way back from being so sick this summer. It is good for all our spirits to see and hear such support and fellowship between our youtube "celebrities. :) :) AND then things got even better today when you shared with us viewers your package from Kate. You were like a couple of kids with Christmas stockings :) :) Great fun to watch and a welcome warm fuzzy break of sunshine for us watching. One a totally different note--the fabric behind you today reminded me in both pattern and color of the wallpaper that used to be on our living room walls. A fond memory indeed. Both of you stay safe, be well, and give lots of hugs to the dogs. Susan N in New Hampshire USA

I just got new glasses too, needed a new prescription. Just for comparison, I get the rim-less Sillouette brand titanium frames, the lightest lense material that can be drilled into, tri-focal progressive (line-less) with anti-glare & blue light filter coatings, and I think an extra edge grinding treatment to eliminate something, catching light maybe. Anyway...$1,000.00 for lenses and frames. No insurance coverage at my age. Private vision insurance doesn't cover much in the U.S. I think it would break even as far as paid in & the amount covered. They are light as a feather even with my extensive prescriotion. I love them, and oh my, so nice to see so much better. I was 5 months late for my annual exam due to the pandemic.

I love what Arne says about not wanting to put a clock to see how fast he knitts. For me the whole poetry goes out of knitting or spinning when I have to finish something in time. I only knit/create for the wonderful people around me and the love that goes into the piece takes time because it’s like spending time with them :) we are already running around all day for things and demands that we don’t necessarily enjoy so let’s cherish the moment of “being in the wool” :)

@@susanmyrawills while it's good in theory, sometimes LYS just don't exist or are out of the price range for some people. I honestly feel that if a craft is made accessible to more people through a lower price point, then that's great! I can still support my LYS when I want a nice wool or sock yarn, but still go to Walmart to get cheap acrylic yarn for a couch throw.
@susanmyrawills
@susanmyrawills 3 жыл бұрын
@@alisoncastaldo136 Yeah, I understand some people aren’t able to allot much for crafting or art supplies into their budget. It’s just that Walmart’s preditory business model is detrimental to entrepreneur spirit and small business. The ad also is deceitful. But I guess that’s what capitalism is all about. They probably did not know HOW their images were going to be used in conjunction with Lion Brand Yarn. I would incourage struggling communities to support charity and independent thrift shops and reuse craft supply venues. I have found good cashmere,wool, cotton,and acrylic sweaters to unravel at thrift stores, as well as bags of various yarns donated from from a departed beloved one’s stash. Hey, we’re all gonna move on someday before reaching the end of our yarn balls.

Omg Arne you made me laugh when you said decoupage. Sometimes I feel like I'm watchin two teenage best friends banter back n forth. What a pair of goofballs. Talkin about losin things...I lose my medicine. I dont keep it in a medicine cabinet and I have some I take 4 times a day. Well I'm always misplacing it. Not a good thing to lose eh?

I couldn't realise that is real... I discovered you, Kate, a week ago and like Arne, bingewatched your KZfaq videos since than... And now I listen to my "old KZfaq friends" (I like your videos so so much Arne and Carlos) and what a surprise to hear them speak about you. I wished your both houses were closer. I'm sure you would have a million things to tell to eachother and so many beautiful handmade works to share. Thank you Kate, thank you Arne & Carlos for lightening our days, especially on these troubled times. Thank you.

Please, please carry on designing so I can get my Wednesday block fix 😁 love and hugs. Jill 😘

Please do not stop making the squares. The quarantine was such a great opportunity for this creative approach to “be together apart” - artists and musicians and humanitarians and all energetic and creative people generously reaching out to cheer other people in dark times. It’s like the Whos in Whoville who sang even though the Grinch thought he had taken Christmas away. He hadn’t; you can’t dim human spirit. The squares were how I “met” you - the Great Catalyst. They take on a meaning bigger than the sum of their parts. Much gratitude and appreciation to all of your team.

You made my day after I scrubbed my kitchen floor earlier! OCD me! There are still new people joining the Quarantine group and some of the stitchers have made numerous throws and pillows, etc. I've made pillows, table runners, potholders, and am planning on some scarves and possibly a sweater or vest. Love laughing with you and hearing all your antics! ❤️❤️❤️

I'm not knitting the blocks anymore, I made the original cushion design and then stopped. I love you guys! You make me laugh. I smile when I see the notification comes through on my phone. We had a orange and white shih Tzu and he was very spoiled. 😁 we would(try to) take him for walks and he would make it about one block and he would sit. He was done! we would have to carry him the rest of the way. needless to say some of our walks were very short!!

Way back my family is Scottish. I soak the oats in milk overnight on the stove. Add salt always. In the morning add more milk and boil for 5 to ten mins. Serve with brown sugar or maple syrup and cream. I've pretty much cut the carbs so no longer eat it but might have it at Christmas time.

Thank you for en encouraging the time to sit and be present for a bit. I decided to peel the ginger I used to make ginger simple syrup for snow-cones and homemade soda! Hi Arne and Carlos. Your comments about the porridgate and cooking are spot on for this house too. Somebody else was cringing watching the pears being peeled. While I'm watching this on my phone, Peggy Sue is lying with one ear flopped on the corner of the screen. She sends her doggy love to Freya and Helmer. Freya is the reason we started thinking about getting a dog two years ago. Thank you for your wonderful entertainment. C and G. X

Arne's second breakfast brought back a nice memory for me. Years ago, my MIL complained that my FIL was never hungry for lunch and she couldn't figure out why. A few months later, we were eating lunch at the restaurant that my FIL went to every day for coffee with his retired friends and found out that my FIL was eating breakfast again with his friends and never mentioning it to his wife. So every day he had 1st breakfast at home and 2nd breakfast at the restaurant when he was supposed to just be having "coffee" with friends. Thanks for the memory!
