Glad to see some SG stuff getting reviewed. I picked up a pair of Dehavilland pants for my late season mule deer hunt. I couldn't find anything else on the market that ticked as many boxes as those pants. Also I have a Core light weight and an equinox guard hoodie and that equinox is way nicer for early season.

I need to try that equinox hoody, I have heard good things.

Another great review, both garments are excellent. Owning both the Sitka has been used for like 5 seasons and just won't die. SG is every bit as tough and just my go to. You just don't loose with SG,from gear to clothing. STONE GLACIER 4 Life ...😎💜

It’s to bad you couldn’t have professional hunter on the podcast to discuss their clothing choices and why, it seems almost all of them have a deal with xyz brand and only rep that company. Thank you for doing these types of reviews I’m telling you they are much needed! Wish you would ad merino into the mix 😉

Thanks for the content. Trying not blindly order from one company cause I like their camo best and this sort of information helps. Where does the Peleton 118 fall in with these garments? Looking at synthetics specifically for moisture wicking advantage.

Thanks man. Have not run the peloton personally so can’t comment.

Very thoughtful review. my question is where would you stack the kuhl baselayer among these?
@MindfulHunter

Closer to the core LW but just slightly heavier.

Which one would you take on an August/early season sheep hunt? Due to my location/province of residence, I’m specifically thinking for central/northern Alberta bighorn but an August northern BC Stone’s would probably be roughly analogous. Sheep season doesn’t open in Alberta till August 25 so it’s almost a month later than northern BC. I’m guessing the Sitka would be your preference for that but could see arguments for either, I think. As always, fantastic review! Thanks, Jay.

August sheep can really go either way. I saw temps from 0 to 25c this year. If forecast was hot I’d go Sitka otherwise SG.

Did i miss it? Does the Sitka have a quarter zip? This is ilportant to me to dump heat and moisture on hot climbs.

They’re both quarter zip

If the Avro is relatively "heavier", Any thoughts on it being a 2nd layer over another base layer, like over a merino/synthetic T shirt?
