POV: it's after closing time on January 16, 1920. Prohibition goes into effect tomorrow and you're a small town bartender sitting at the bar with a glass of whisky wondering how you're going to provide for your family now that your livelihood is illegal.

My dad was born in 1922 and although I'm a recovering alcoholic, I'm dreaming of sitting in a bar having a root beer float with my dad but we're both kids here. We miss u dad! Kinda like the Twilight Zone episode called "Back To Willoughby"

i am 92 years and when I listen this music , I dance. And sometimes with another senior.. i feel great symphony for the youngsters who do not experience the passion of close bodies and love for all. The loss pf music and feeling for another close body is heart breaking. Dance and feel.

That moment a bar built a century ago is cozier than a modern box-cutter.

23 years old and dreaming about being in these type of settings. Just relaxing, enjoying a drink, and listening to the beautiful music. No phones, no internet, just there in the then and now. I swear I have an old soul or an experienced one. I always tell myself that I was born 100 years too late or too early. Not trying to make it sound like life today is bleak, but if I were to time travel, I would definitely go to the early to mid 1900s.

Oh believe me, I one time was dreaming that I was in a bar enjoying me some whiskey and all of the sudden my great grandmother came in and said " enjoying your time here? " I was shocked to see her and missed her over 2 years ago since she passed on mothers day. She sat down next beside me and I said " I'm sorry I never got to say goodbye to you." My grandmother replied " no need to, besides, I'm happy to see you well and young, and thank you for looking after me, I'm with my dad now. " I can't remember what the rest of the conversation was but when I woke up, I started to cry.

I will end up sitting in this bar on my own sipping a gin and tonic 🍸

During the 1920s in America you would more likely having a sarsaparilla than a whiskey. The 18th Amendment was ratified in 1919 and alcohol sales and consumption were illegal. They did have speakeasies, but they wouldn't be so open to the street, and they wouldn't be empty.

As much as I am enjoying this bar, the coughs every now and then have me on edge. Still great job!

And here I am, the sole remaining bargoer after a long evening with my colleagues at The Dream Corporation on the ground floor of The Hollywood Tower Hotel. You may be wondering why I'm still here despite the cafe-at-day, bar-by-night having long since closed, at 1:00[AM] EST in the morning. Well, mobile games got involved, for one thing. But also, life hit me like a Tesla Cybertruck out in the middle of the Pulaski wilderness, and thus it's not like I could just leave and hit the hay just below the sunroof of the Hotel for the night right away. I needed time to think, and plenty of it at that. Hey, at least I got to be in (mostly) total solitude and silence, with the sole exception being the loudspeakers over the transoms softly playing the waltzes of Caravan Palace, as if the hoarseness of their throats - if they _did_ have throats - were finally starting to catch up to them. However, I couldn't help but feel a little lonely at times, and the Princess of Terraria would agree with my sediment as well. I couldn't even _begin_ to continue tending to my Sunnii in Plant Nanny 2.0 - not like I needed to anyway, as I had already finished the _evening_ before - I was so focused on thinking of life. But, you know, in spite of all this, at least I don't have to literally sweat it any at all in my bear suit - as the bar is colder than your average Waffle House in the dead of winter, when coffee is the most popular "energy" drink in establishments as these, most ironically of all. And these make 'em cold for a good reason, not out of "malice" or anythin'. And besides, the future is all that matters most.
