I was once sitting in a field in Cambridgeshire, England when a Barn Owl flew right in front of me low and slow and perfectly silent. The only thing I have ever seen more beautiful than that in my life is my son's smile.

Holy crap that’s a big barn owl family! I’ve watched videos of barn owls from people like Robert E. Fuller with clutches of four and one didn’t survive. I’m so glad there’s people like this out there who have the means and knowledge to help them all, especially the smallest/youngest ones that almost certainly wouldn’t have made it without help.

I LOVE barn owls, they are, by far, my most favorite of the owls, the snowy owl is second place.They make my heart skip a beat when I see their beautiful plumage, their markings are indeed beautiful and glorious! like so many other raptors, they make you want to just stare and drink in their beauty, Like You Say Martin, you just want to stare at them for hours and hours. They are by far, my favorite predatory bird.

I have watched a bunch of barn owl nest and man of man they are so loud. You would think they were dying the way they scream.

Am in tears as I so love Barn Owls. Thank you so much for sharing! I live Big Island Hawai’i (that has it’s native Pueo) and Barn Owls were introduced. One night I was driving back home and saw what I thought at first was a coconut sitting in the middle of the road. But I backed up and saw it was an owl. Since a car was coming I had to act fast and gently. When I got it safely on my lap in the car, I felt around attempting to find out what was wrong with it. Sadly found it’s neck was broken, so nothing I could do. Just talked to it playing Hawaiian music with moon roof open. When I arrived home, I just quietly sat with it … and suddenly it let out some long sweet communication as it passed on. The next morning I got to indulge myself with the STUNNING beauty of this Barn Owl! I was so blown away by it’s varity of gorgeous feathers and beguiling face with the most tiny facial feathers in the shape of a heart! I gave it a proper burial and was really sad to learn they can’t navigate cars at night so often die with broken necks running into them flying so low over country roads. Just loved your LONG indulgent long look at them all in the wall box together bobbing heads hillarious! And just love hearing them screeching at you of such LOUD VIBRANT LIFE that you gave them! In my Kona neighborhood I sometimes hear them screeching at night and it makes me so happy! Many blessing of great love to you & entire family for ALL you do!

When in the world do you Sleep? This raise, rehabilitate, and release program seems to be a not only seven day, but twenty four hour job. Reminds me of medieval monks that got up twice a night to troop down to the chapel to pray, then go out and do a full day’s work!
