He's buff, polite, I wouldn't say he's dumb (he's an idiot savant, actually both him and Narancia are idiot savants; they're both experts at what they do, but they're arguably dumb as bricks, Narancia's like book-smarts dumb while Mista just seems eccentric kind of dumb), but he's like the muscle of the group. He's the Polnareff, the Okuyasu, the Speedwagon, and the Joseph Joestar (Part 2 didn't have a lot of characters consistently on the main team for the majority of the time, but Joseph is an absolute himbo), so to speak.

So, unfortunately, the anime cuts out the scene where Mista realizes that 4 is bad luck. I have no idea why they did this. Basically, Mista was thrown in jail for killing those dudes. His defense story was too unbelievable, so the judge just dismissed it. Who would believe that three people all missed a dozen shots, and that this man stole one of their guns, and killed them all in self-defense? So, while in prison, Mista has the epiphany that it must have been because he fired 4 bullets, and he starts remembering all the other times 4 has been bad luck, like the story of the kitten he said a few episodes ago. It’s a really important character thing, so I’m genuinely kind of disappointed part 5 couldn’t fit it in anywhere. It literally would have only needed a single extra line from the narrator.
