Clip from Six Feet Under (season 4 episode 3; "Parallel Play). The closing music is 'Lucky' by Radiohead from OK Computer (I added the remainder of the track at the end)

I just went back and rewatched it for the first time in about four years. Immediately got chills when the music kicked in. Must be time to rewatch the series.

sa†urday nigh† wris† Δ total chills every time at the music start and when the camera zooms in on Ruth and Nate when he tells her that he's going to move back in.

i think it's funny how every single scene in Six feet Under is "one of most powerful scenes in the entire series" i still wonder how can a tv show being so close to perfection i guess it's all about the feelings it inspires inside the most of us

In terms of writing a series - as in 2003/4 this was the first time a family could be this "weird" this was the original - everything that followed was an imitation. This was written from the heart by Alan Ball.

Such a gravitating scene, all them wanting to move on from their past even if it means symbolically burning all of the past to the ground. Enter the Radiohead song and you have a song that perfectly blends into the aesthetic of the show. Great scene!!!

+KlassicKrusty what shows would you say beat it?
@ClassicKrusty8 жыл бұрын
Good question. All the shows I thought had the potential to be better have taken a subtle downturn. The Simpsons Ss 1-10 for me is probably the Holy Grail of TV entertainment. As for dramas I can't think of a show that was better beginning, middle and end as Six Feet Under except maybe Breaking Bad. I liked True Blood alot but haven't seen the final season and season 4 I thought was the worst although the 2nd half was much better. Season 1 of True Detective is a must see IMO. Admittedly I haven't been watching as many shows the last couple years.

+KlassicKrusty loooool, no fucking way, simpsons? breaking bad? bullshit , the wire or sopranos are ten times better
@ClassicKrusty8 жыл бұрын
The Sopranos is a damn good show. The Wire didn't resonate with me-couldn't even finish the pilot episode although I expect it gets better. In terms of rewatchabilty I'd rather watch Seasons 2-4 of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia than a drama like the Sopranos but im not trying to say my list is objectively better than yours.

A great cast and a disciplined set of writers and directors certainly helped too:-) Alot of shows begin strong but then stagger on to the finish line. This series had perhaps the best ending ever for a television series.

Man! This is my favorite scene of "Six Feet Under" if i have to resume this serie in one single shot was this scene... I Think the reason why this serie don´t won the Emmy against Sopranos it was because people thought that this was a serie about death but they get the wrong picture because this serie was about life and restart again and again again even if our life was a shit...Ler mais Mostrar menos Responder 1

@filabreu I know that. Normally people do that but this serie had no worries about giving social messages to world like help to poor guys, plant a tree etc. This serie was about life and I think, it did very well atleast one of the best. That's why I wrote that.

@Wazzzzzzaap Thanks for the compliment... The thing is that she could do both things at the same time. She is only thinking of herself now, just about her problems. She doesn't realize that other people might use those things she burned up and still she would be clearing her mind while doing some good to another person. The fact that you didn't even realize that too is because you might be as selfish as her, and never passed by a time of need. I live in Brazil and I see people in need every day.

This scene is so inspiring , , it shows how ridicilous claire is so perfectly and how selfcentered. How every moment , even moments of great shallowness , have to bes transfmored by her to be something arty . Claire is everything that is wrong with the art world. She is a prototype of an individual that makes art worthless and shallow.

Don't get me wrong, I love this song. It's actually THE song which made me want to listen to OK Computer 15 years ago (not Karma Police)... But as much as I love this song, I don't think it fits the scene. To me this song as nothing to do with getting rid of something or burning stuff.
