@Black Watch What would you say to the younger "you"? I have many old cassettes of calls to friends, prank calls etc. from back in the 90's when I was a young teen. I just listened to a few minutes of one and couldn't believe how much I've changed. My energy levels were amazing and such simple things made me laugh. I wish it was that easy now. Life happens though.

@Black Watch I understand that. Sounds like you possibly needed more life experience or weren't strong enough for happiness yet or even didn't think you deserved it because you needed some growth. Then again I barely know you :)

I've watched this final sequence over a dozen times, and I still can't do it without tears. The most beautiful series ending ever filmed. I still haven't figured out whether I'm crying because everyone dies...we are all going to die. Or whether the real loss for me is that I've never loved a television series as much as Six Feet Under, and I still can't bear that it's over.

What I think is that people, including me cries their lungs out in this ending because it reminds us that everything will fade away (like the editing of the "future" sequences with a lot of exposure) one day and life doesn't wait for anybody and it gives us that feeling that we need to enjoy the present with ourselves and loved ones

In the beginning I related more to Brenda but then Ruth's story became more compelling. As a mother, she had such an unfair, albeit necessary course. When she breaks down in front of the childhood photos it hit home. So bittersweet. She was the most sympathetic character. Her love for her children was UNCONDITIONAL.

This show was one of the most beautifully, realistically , impactfully honest series I had ever seen in my life. I have gone back to it and re-watched it from beginning to end several times. Each time I watched it I saw things I hadn't seen before. I also think that most people can relate to the characters in the story, as we all have a family member or two that are like these characters. After I've watched it, death became easier to talk about. I highly recommend that people watch this series and breathe it in. Every second of it! Thank you Alan Ball for the brilliant idea and writing. It is my favorite series of all time!

I have fond memories of watching this show in real time as it was playing out. It soon became one of my favorite things on TV, period. I didn't quite see it back then, but this show brought me a great deal of comfort. I lost my dad in summer of 03 and we'd both watched together. He even told me that this show helped him in some ways, he had cancer and I suppose this show helped him face the inevitable.... I never realized it until much later but six feet under helped me learn how to grieve, how to feel pain, heartbreak, the death of loved ones...six feet under aired during a time in my life when I most definitely needed comfort, and a time when I was very vulnerable. This series is an absolute masterpiece. The Fishers became welcome guests in my home, and I shed real tears when Nate died, and when Claire was falling apart afterwards. God bless the cast and crew, thank you so much, for this amazing, timeless, heartbreakingly, hauntingly beautiful series!

I've always thought of this as Claire's life review. "You can't take a picture of this, it's already gone." is a way of telling Claire that what she is seeing is in her past and her tears is her finally being grateful for the people and life that she had even through all the turmoil she experienced when she was young.

Man, the experience and emotions this show makes you go through just leave you feeling grateful about life and all the people in it that make it special. I never felt so much by the simple act of watching a TV series. Some shows give you thrills, some shows leave you in a deep state of thought about the state of affairs of the world, some shows introduce you to an era you never experienced, some shows bring you into a fantasy world you want to believe is real, but this show just gives you a journey into the human experience. Life, death, the good moments and the bad. The last four episodes of this show had me weeping like a baby. I hadn't felt something so significant in so long, it's crazy to believe that it came from a TV series. And that last episode man, WOW. Talk about a perfect ending. I'm so glad I got experience this show, especially in a time where everything seems so uncertain. This show just makes you value the human experience and everything that comes with it...........

This guy is my most fav. actor and his acting, potrating Dexter, David Fisher ... magnificent! The whole show is one of a kind! The actors! The music! I don't know when I'll watch it again, because I was a mess, after the last episode. I cried like never before & my heart broke for all of them 😭💔😭 They all died 😭😭 Very beautiful and touching scene, but still so so heartbreaking for watching 💔 I can't remember show with such a perfectly emotionaly touching ending like SFU. I found this show two weeks before my mother passed away. I always hoped she would heal but it wasnt God's will. However this show helped me during this grieving time, I didn't see death as an ending, but more of a transition.

I finished the series on Monday of this week, makes it my 8th or 9th time so far. The last episode always make me cry, and it has for different reasons as I've lived my own life. There will never be anything else to compare, Six Feet Under was well ahead of its time and will always hold the benchmark for a series finale. Brava/Bravo Cast and Crew!!!! ♥

I'm so glad to have got to watch this while the series originally aired and so remaining unspoiled. Without having any idea what to expect, the losses came like gut punch after gut punch. It's the best series finale I've ever seen or likely ever will. Pure brilliance.

It's 2024 and I just watched the series. I'm glad I didn't see it when it originally ran. I had just lost my brother in 2002 and to this day I am still grieving his loss. The ending of this touched me so much... We are all so close to death. We are here for but a fleeting moment in time. When Ruth sees Nate on her deathbed I lose it. Most of my family is on the other side and I imagine I will have a hell of party waiting for me when it is my time. While I fear death I am comforted by the thought of my loved ones greeting me at it's door.

4:30 I've watched this closing sequence dozens of time. I can NEVER watch it without weeping. Then we get to this point in this commentary, I'm just shy of "ugly crying" and you make me burst out laughing with tear rollings down my cheeks by saying Billy "Talked Brenda to death going on about Claire. Thank you for that.

Love the little detail in Rico his death where he feels his arm before he gets a heart attack. And it's symblism in letting Claire live the longest while she started the series out not knowing what she wants out of live and end up living the best and longest one.

Hands down, the most epic series finale of all time. Such complex artistry and emotion. It took me years to be able to talk about it with anyone without being consumed by my own emotion every time. Total perfection.

I'm late to this party as I just finished binge watching it on Netflix. I wish I could have a mind wipe to forget I watched it. And then watch it again. Truly the most beautiful ending to an incredible series. I'm going to rewatch the ending scene several times after I write this. I need to. Not just want to. But, I need to.
