He also did nOt feel the need to get approval from the “ethics commissioner” on the matter. I also didn’t like how he did not know how much We paid to cover his wife’s travel expenses. Money does not seem to matter to him. And if he can refuse to answer questions what is the point of this review?

Covering Sophie's expenses can be a good cover for her to get to travel around, living like a queen, all expenses paid. What about her security though? I'm guessing that's on the taxpayers. Why has the public service not shouted loud and long that they were not recommending this. It seems to me either the media is not covering their denials or are they complicit or have they been bought off with their recent raises. The public service has a lot to answer for and has said very little, which leads me to believe they are complicit.

The National Post is cherry picking the snippets of Trudeau's testimony to show him in the best light, cutting out most of Poilievre's direct questions. It's a misrepresentation of Trudeau's refusal to answer basic questions due to his seeming awareness that answering these questions will perjure him at a later date as this issue escalates and more documentation contradicts his testimony. Coerced civil servants who are being scapegoated in this ethics breach are being allowed to voice their dissent through the released correspondence. Legislative changes could help enforce ethical conduct in elected officials if our laws punish their behaviour criminally instead of issuing small fines and suffering declining popularity in poll results.

Trudeau said that he did not know that the WE was connected with the CSSG until May the 8th, That is because the fund was not called the CSSG but the big slush fund until the name was firmed up for the May 8th presentation. He did send the civil service back to make sure that WE was the only organization that would be able to deliver the program. So as mandated they went back and setup the criteria to ensure no other organization could meet them, not make sure no other organization could deliver with the criteria as presented. Just to let everyone know that during working a 2 year contract I had to review and pass a tests on Ethics no less that 6 times. Ethics is taken very seriously in the private industry because the ramification of violating Canadian ethic laws is very serious. Just ask any publicly traded company other than SNC Lavelin, WE and other liberal connected companies. It was made very clear that anything with a value of more than $50 could not be accepted, Anything included Cash, Gifts, Alcohol, Food, Trips, Accommodations and Entertainment. What Trudeau claims was approved by the Ethics Commissionaire with regards to his wife's activity would not even have seen the light of day from where I come from. So either the Ethics commissionaire has a very different standard than the real world or what he was told was going to happen is very different than what did happen.
