Great comment from a supporter of a losing team - that is what makes the sport great and especially when others are humble enough to acknowledge the others strengths. As a white South African I am amazed when I see all of our people coming together for the Springboks - it is really special. I shoudl mention the late Pres Mandela was instrumental in this - having said that you can see how deep the game is over here. The England team are on the up!

Siya Kolisi, from playing rugby in school in his boxers because he couldn't afford sports shorts, to being an ambassador for South Africa and Africa. There is not a South African alive who doesn't respect him. Whether they beat NZ or not, the country is so proud of him and the team. And from a father, I respect it so much to see him run to his children after almost every match.

White South Africans like to be fathers to their Black South African counterparts. There is a lot of subtle white supremacy in R.S.A. Apartheid isn’t completely gone. There is still some harsh subtle segregation between Blacks and Whites based on social standings.

I now understand the depth of meaning the Springboks connect to rugby, which differentiates them from the majority of other teams. Wales for instance connect our Welsh pride as the key motivation but that's not enough to compete with the deep rooted 'do or die' attitude of the Springboks, because they are providing hope not only for people struggling in South Africa but also for the whole African continent.

What Siya laid out in his background is exactly what South Africa can be and should be, Mampara politicians can’t divide us forever, Our power in unity is seen on the pitch and we are beginning to see through all their b.s. I’m sure our president will be at the final wearing a scarf around his neck, saddest part is the adversity some of the players are making it through are in spite of him, not because of him

Once again I know that if we dig deep as w nation we will come out on top. Just one thing POLITICIANS 16:12 16:12 are the problem!! I ask myself do they care about us. ? Do they put us and those less fortunate first? NO!! That breaks my heart. The only way is that we stand up to them and say no more!! Enough of corruption!! enough to crime, enough to povety. @charliedlamini1671 I feel we went into the game wanting to run the ball the we got caught up in this kicking game, of which England was winning. It was only on the 54th min that our outside center got to touch the ball. We should have abandoned the kicking game and spread the ball to the backs. Of course, in the right areas. Even allowing the forwards to drive at them with carries would have softened them up. We still persisted with the maul when we saw they defended those with ease. Another issue is our ruck speed. Our ability to contest in the ruck to slow the game or even win the ball back is nonexistent. We need kwagga to start and have Marco on the bench.

As a Kiwi SA played the long game for the whole 80 minutes that was a true test match indeed I must admit England stuck to their game plan however, you can't play for 60 or 70 minutes or SA will sneak through the side door, as they always do, the game was a game of the front pack rough and fearless, I can't wait for next week AB's against SA final, it will be a match not to miss even though Im bias for the AB's I give it to the AB's but not by much.

After the Twickenham match, I immediately knew the next clash between the 2 sides would be massive. It doesn't get much bigger than RWC final. The trajectories of the teams clearly have been in opposite direction though, with ABs picking themselves up after that shock and regaining efficiency and accuracy of the great AB teams. The Boks have been steadily declining since that momentous day, and it will take something quite extraordinary to regain their energy to get one over their fiercest but most respectected rivals on the biggest stage. I will live in hope..

Last night during the anthem I actually said to myself “thank god for the springboks” because there are sooooo few things now that still give me any kind of connection to SA (I emigrated 20 years ago). A hand full of friends, and 2 non-South African parents that still live there but might not at some point. Makes me wonder whether at some point I’ll still go back or have any love left for the country, sadly. There’s so little to be proud of, unfortunately. And then you watch the Boks and that side just makes you so FUCKING proud of South Africa. And then you realise it’s not just them, it’s the mentality and the spirit of the people, and they actually help you, and remind you to love your country. What they do for SA is such a massive massive service and goes far beyond what any other team does for their nation. My beloved Germany doesn’t come close in football. England doesn’t come close in any sport. Germany and England really don’t NEED their teams to be able to identify with their country. And when they lose, the next day life just goes on. When the boks lose, the entire country weeps. I feel like the boks are so intrinsically linked to SA. Thank you Springboks for giving 65 million people hope, and something to be proud of ❤
