I wsa always amazed when a pile of scrap was dragged off the track, and half an hour or so later it re-emerges for a later race under it's own steam.... It seems 2 transits and some chain make a semi-decent mackeshift chassis jig to straighten them out a bit.

These videos always explain why it's so hard to find old Jaguars, Daimlers and their Hearse versions for sale. Hurts to watch all these getting destroyed

By the time they're turning up in the banger races, their days on the road are gone. They may look OK when painted for the race, but they'd be a horrendous money pit to try to get back on the road.

They mostly unfit for the road the banger lads just make them look good for the race then they go for scrap so why not have another use and some fun out of the cars

Try typing in spedeworth.They have a fixture list online.Also trackstar.There the two main promotors in the uk.

I don't think these guys understand that they are risking getting a long term, debilitating back or neck injury that could derail the rest of their lives. Constant pain is a horrible thing. ....It's all fun and games, until it isn't!

I used to Race Bangers in Cornwall & it was great fun & I'm ex Army) but if everybody lived like you, wrapped in Cotton Wool & crying over spilt Milk the World would be a miserable place, all work & no fun. Live for f**ks sake.

This looks like more fun than American demolition derby where they use about 1/4 of the track wet it down and back into everybody. This would have me on the edge of my seat cheering. I wish we could get this here.

we used to, l know cos my uncle used to do it but l still think it was illegal cos we had to make sure we didnt get spotted by the cops when taking the cars to the races. my cousin did about 10 rolls in a datto while being towed by a valigrunt cos the tow rope got tangled in the front wheel

They would be all okay cuz they have helmet and lots more to make sure they don’t get hurt but sometimes u can get hurt t by filling over and breaking ur leg or thumb

Some go to win,some go to wreck.Normally 15 laps winner gets a trophy and a little prize money.There are also trophys for best entertainer.

The cars are modified so they fold up.

the cars are designed to fold massively so the force of impact would be distributed towards the car and less of the driver ver👍

@@jonathanmuller7815 Depends. Usually the earlier heats in a meeting are a genuine race with 20 laps (on a standard short oval) The final is still a race, OR last man running. Last race of the evening would be the demolition derby, last car running.

They fit a very strong cage around the driver to protect him, the rest of the car is stripped out. So they fold easily, but the driver is in a strong metal cage.

I love stuff like this i could watch all day long but these speeds are to high! There has got to be several drivers injured in every race. Lot of ppl missing work ths next day for sure. Id hate to see someone get killed. 😢

I'm trying to understand the concept. Why would you wreck your car into the back of a car that is clearly already disabled and out of the race ?. Can someone please explain ? What am I missing ? If it's just the cool factor. All be it cool. It's kinda stupid to take yourself out. Unless there is something to gain.
