I was diagnosed with Sjogerns a few months ago I have a dry mouth dry eyes bad teeth etc. I was finally diagnosed when I started having more neurological symptoms such as numbness in my hands and feet My leg would go out from under me I was sent for an MRI for MS which was inconclusive finally sent to a rheumatologist who specialize in Sjogerns and was finally diagnosed I didn’t want to do plaquenil so I tried the ketogenic diet and have been having great results in a short period of time . All neurological symptoms are gone and dry eyes and mout are not as bad . Going to keep on this diet and praying the good results keep up .

It’s great to hear you talk about Sjogrens. It’s a serious disorder and it definitely doesn’t get enough air time. Most doctors don’t have much of a clue either. If anti-Ro and anti-La are negative, they dismiss the idea one has Sjogrens even though they meet the clinical criteria. There is an “Early Sjogrens Panel” that tests anti salivary protein, anti parotid and carbonic anhydrase. These are the first bio markers for Sjogrens and some people never have Ro and La antibodies (here!). I’ve had Sjogrens for 20 years now and I’m fortunate to have very good doctors who never stop educating me because Sjogrens can evolve. For some, the disorder is just as damaging as Lupus so it’s extremely important to have intelligent doctors and to do as much of your own research as possible. 🙏💪💜

Hi l have sjogrens for 20 year's. The very bad news for me is l complained about my consultant, not a good idear, l haven't been treated very well at all I don't have any help at hospital any more. I have very bad experience with that in the past. Still no proper help. I suffer with most of the symptoms of sjogrens. My face is always swallen, very dry month, many teeth taken out, bad joint pain, walking is sometimes very painful. I have asthma, so it has affected my lungs. Fatigue is a major problem and also brain fog. I do feel very let down by the health services. I feel abandoned 😞 thankyou for you imput 😊

@@stephanielong2674 Thank you for bringing this up. I had nerve issues too. Before I was diagnosed with Sjogrens several years ago, I had Bell's Palsy on the left side of my face. Months leading up to the actual paralysis I was in alot of nerve pain. It started with pain that would radiate from my head to feet on my left side only. Then as it progressed, I started to feel real heavy brain fog and would start to lose my balance. When taking steps I'd feel like I was falling further into the step, especially when I'd step out of a car. I had had a lot of pain on my head, neck, ear, and face (left side). Started to get light twitching that wouldn't stop in my eye and left side of lip. About 3 days after, I woke up and couldn't blink my left eye and my lip kind of just stayed in position and wouldn't move. (Left side only) I didnt get drooping of the face, only paralysis. At the time, they diagnosed me with an intracranial nerve infection and inner ear infection. It took the actual face paralysis to get a diagnosis after multiple doctor visits. Also a year later I had a kidney infection and was in excruciating pain. I don't drink alcohol, coffee/energy drinks or soda and they couldnt figure out why I got the kidney infection either because I didnt have a UTI or anything that could have cause it. It was just several years of ER visits for multiple issues leading up to finally getting a recommendation to see a Rheumatologist.

I am a 63 yr old woman who was diagnosed with Sjrogren's Syndrome about 6 months ago. I went to many doctors and specialists and they treated me like I was crazy for 6yrs. I have a secondary symptom that is called Burning Mouth Syndrome. It is awful to live with everyday. I don't really have arthritis yet or dry eyes. My mouth is in extreme pain all day and I cannot eat anything with sugar, Caffeine, dairy and I am very limited on what I can eat. I do take 3mg prednisone and it seems to calm the burning down. I am very tired and my teeth are hurting. I used to be a dental assistant for over 10 yrs and it is haunting to take care of your teeth and then get this awful disease. My hair has started falling out and I had a lot of hair. This is not how I wanted to spend my later years. I did try the Plaquenil and it did nothing but make me breakout in a terrible rash. I'm not sure why the doctors put you on it and not tell you why it can cause rashes that made my skin look bruised like someone beat me with a bat. I'm very angry that it took so long for them to diagnose this after 6yrs. I had a lip biopsy 2yrs ago and it came back negative. Then I went in January of 2024 and had my 2nd one done and it came back positive. My heart is broken I don't want to live like this and make my husband live with this crap. It is frustrating to be swept under the rug by these doctors. I know I have seen 20 of them. Doctors are worthless they only want to do the easy patient thing and go on. Our health care is worthless!!!!!!!!!!!

I was recently diagnosed with sjogrens. By a naturopath. And all while being recently tested by my conventional pcp for adrenal issues as I have an adrenal mass, enlarged liver, several allergies, and my pcp didn't think anything was alarming enough to send me to a rheumatologist or hematology. My ND looked over my labs and there's many labs that point to sjogrens even though my pcp undermined my positive ANA labs. Definitely a journey, and I am learning this is a rare condition with not much support or information available.

I was diagnosed in 2011. I love that app! I also have brain fog. I would always take someone with me to help take all the notes during my appointments but now I also record the conversations. Very important tip! RTA I was not familiar with but I’m glad you’ve brought it up. My main issues are the dry eyes, swollen glands, dry mouth, throat, nose, skin... I’m sick with a allergy cold right now so everything is extra dry. I think the brain fog and some other symptoms I have mainly come from my lupus, Fibromyalgia, RA, Osteoarthritis and whatever else maybe as you said so kindly, “blending”. Uhg. I’ve thought about asking my doctor for an IV port so I can give myself saline fluids everyday to make sure I’m staying as hydrated as I can. There are down sides to that to tho. In the meantime I just try to drink as much water as I can a day.

Nice video, I have all those symptoms but it's from lyme and co-infections, although eye doctor actually said I had Sjogrens. I also just recently found out I have a problem with oxalates which are very prevalent in plant-based diets, probably caused all my extensive issues with teeth many of which I have lost lately and according to periodontist it's from such a dry mouth which causes cavities under the gum line. I heard you mention a plant-based diet in another video and thought I would mention the oxalates that you might want to check into as that causes many of the same symptoms you have. SallyKNorton has lots of videos you can watch and a great book.

Im 31 and was diagnosed in Dec 19’ , after +18 months of symptoms and multiple doctors telling me that I’m healthy. Finally a diagnosis! Flare ups were really bad for awhile when I had no idea what was going on, now they’ve calmed. I lost half of my hair in extreme shedding, inflammation, dryness all over, fatigue and spurts of mild depression. With a diagnosis I now I have general dryness more so than fatigue, lately. The doc pushed plaquenil right away and I declined. I’d rather try natroparh before life long meds. I cut out gluten and already was dairy free. I found that I feel more energetic and my bloodwork showed an uptick in b12. I have an appt with a new rheum next week and I’m hoping they run new labs. My last lab was in Nov 19 and I’ve changed my diet and vitamin regimen to feel a change. Even went off BC pill to normalize my body. Hopefully I see one! Idea for a topic... how to find a good doctors? I have primary Sjogrens and my rheum brushes other symptoms under the rug. She prescribed plaq then didn’t clarify with the pharmacy to fill it. They followed up and her office hasn’t responded in weeks. I took that as a sign to go natural and find a new doc!!

I am living with a swollen salivary glands problem since 2008. When it started it was only to my left side but then it started on the right parotid as well. So I have bilateral. I went for my sialogram and nothing was found as the doctor was in doubt if I had any salivary gland stones which are causing the saliva to get stuck up in the salivary gland. On my short trip to UAE, I consulted an Iranian Doctor who said either I go for the removal of the gland or live with it. Considering the risk for damaging facial nerves which can cause facial paralysis I decided to avoid surgery. The doctor suggested me one technique which is milking the salivary gland, and I have been following the same. Sometimes it gets so bad and irritating you cant think of but to snuff out the gland and cheeks out from the Jaw. Drinking lots of fluids helps with the dryness of the mouth. I always keep salted ginger with me if I feel this is starting. Also while milking the gland I sometimes do get some white sticky thread-like stuff coming out from my salivary duct (maybe its mucus) but still its more like a thread which is very sticky. The milking process of extracting the blocked saliva really helps along with having very sour candies and directly putting 2-3 drops of Leamon at the duct where your saliva comes out. Hope it helps.

I've been researching Sjogrens heavily. My RA Dr believes I have it. LA for SSA Ro were both high, and sed rate plus one other tests were high as well. I've had pain in the glands under my ears for more years than I can count, but I didn't think much of it. I've struggled for the past two or so years I've had debilitating fatigue, exhaustion, joint pain, muscle soreness, swallowing issues, Raynaud's, sinus issues, gerd and more. All Drs dismissed me since labs were good. My ANA is always negative which means I'm good. Or so I thought. My Dr says, being negative doesn't mean your truly negative. They are certain it's Sjogrens, and I'm hoping at my appt follow up next week, we start a treatment plan....could u share medication treatment options if any?

Yes for the kidneys I’ve been on going trying to be diagnosed a ultrasound was the tool for me for the saliva glands but it’s affected my thyroid eyes heart is now showing effects I have had the encephalopathy but what led me to the Hospital for get mri scans was the kidneys. I was a medical student at the time I did my own urine analysis as it was lock down no was was seeing me at the same time I was passing blood in urine I had severe upper abdominal issues I was actually questioning myeloma with the back pain too but I was jerking thinking I was having sezuires. My whole body was just numb and tingling I had no energy had lost significant amount of weight bmi was 16.1 I’d then just burst back to life and ignore my symptoms this has gone on and on and even now I’m fed up of waiting for appointments ive learnt to deal with my issues and yes its debilitating I failed becoming a medic due to not being able to focus but Im also adhd found this has actually made me ADD as I can’t be hyperactive anymore and when I do my whole lymphatic system swell ups aches and pains are worse and I then get the tingling and what feels like my brain shaking. It’s not all doom and gloom tho I still have a good career Im now managing in maintain to pass my fitness (somehow) and I’m now a PO. Im able to be a mum still despite the miscarriages I still live a life I go out dancing I have hobbies and interests too it’s such a devastating syndrome and I have so much sympathy and empathy for those having more bad days but please don’t let the depression rule your mind stay positive about anything you can and always make sure you have some purpose in life. I have Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disorder. The only blood test marker I have is a positive ANA and anti-RO. I have no dryness symptoms though. I had the tear test and it was normal, no dry mouth or non PG areas 😂. My symptoms are actually closer to Lupus, hair loss, anaemia, sun sensitivity but no butterfly rash. 🤷🏼‍♀️ For now I wait and see. I’m on hydroxychloroquine and that helps with joint pain but not with brain fog or fatigue. I’m also on B12 shots. I have a family history of Pernicious Anaemia and despite my B12 being ‘normal’ (the test is known to be unreliable) the shots really help my fatigue and brain fog. They also keep my glossitis under control. Do you use any particular supplements? I take a B complex and iron plus vitamins C and D in addition to trying to eat a healthy diet. I had extreme dry eyes from Sjögren’s. I am much better now. I take 2,000 mg flaxseed oil, 1,000 mg black currant oil and 4 fish oil that has anchovies and sardines in it. Every day in the morning I use a heat pad for dry eyes for a few minutes. A warm compress would also work. Then I massage my eyelids. I used Regener Eyes pro 4 drops a day. I also use Refresh omega drops if needed. Dr Zucker in Santa Barbara CA specialized in dry eyes. He is an optometrist.

I first get my coffee brewing… put refresh eye drops in each eye and drink swallows of my room temp water I have ready to go. I’m stiff in the morning but moving around helps to dissipate any pain. Some idiosyncrasies with my Sjogrens is my skin is super sensitive. I have to cut out clothing tags especially in the neck area because is feels super scratchy, or itchy…. Another crazy idiosyncrasy is the top of head will be itchy. I never had these issues before .😵‍💫

I believe I have sjogrens but after decades of no diagnoses and telling two docs that I have it and them saying “nah, that’s minor, let’s find out what is REALLY wrong with you..” ….. I have given up and just try to manage my symptoms thru diet. All of my symptoms fit under the umbrella of sjogrens… but docs I’ve seen have very little knowledge of sjogrens and believe it can be dealt with by OTC meds for dry eye and mouth….. I give up.

Yikes… I feel blessed that I was given a rheumatologist who knew how to help me. I was put on Hydroxychloroquine which is Plaquenil for arthritic pain and mycophenolate for my off the normal scale of antibodies. I have what is called polyclonal Gammopathy. There are 5 immunoglobulins IgG, IgA, IgM, IgD, igE. The mycophenolate drug has crescendoed my high immunoglobulins. The mycophenolate drug is given to people who receive an organ transplant to keep down their antibodies so they will accept the foreign body part. Anyway, I hope I’ve been helpful.😊

What can I take for the salivary glands from swelling

When I feel the salivary gland begins to swell… I take Benadryl right away! For me that has worked, although if you don’t address it right away it can be horrible. My urgent care center is amazing. They take care of me until I can see my rheumatologist. Don’t wait till it gets too painful due to the swelling… take Benadryl first, then if that is not helping…. Go to urgent care to see a doctor! I hope that’s helpful.

Wonder if you have tried using salivary enzyme spray? I have used one called Salivia and it’s been rather effective for me. I also use Systane drops in my eyes, which helps lubricate them but I have to keep using them, it isn’t as long lasting as I would hope. I haven’t been fully diagnosed yet, buncha tests run are showing most levels are good except had a vitamin D deficiency. My ANA test showed autoimmune issues but so far this is a puzzle. I wish you the best on your journey. Thank you for sharing this information.

@@terri4353 I just went an had the muscle bi opsy dome today. That way we can see what all is going on an if it affected the muscles as well due to the weakness that the muscle teat showed an all. I honeslty am on high dose of steroids i started at 50 an now at 40. It had helped alot. But there us no right way yo treat this when it does happen. Thats the bad thing is alot of docs have not seen it so they dont know where to start. But my nero gad never treated anyone so he did some research an found out its treated like gbs. But yes it started back in late Nov i started having little spots that wad numb. Then it ended with my whole body being numb. But my sensory nerve system wad attacked so it flares like Fab or gbs or MS would. We are waiting for results if muscle bi opsy in 10 days then we will know what auto immune supressent shot to be put on an also doing ivig transfusions thats antibodies from other ppl blood to go in an fight mine an tale over an stop attacking my body. I was on humaria for 8 yrs then late oct wad put on cosentex well i got sick like you do but turned into the flu so could not take them in Nov then Oct got the flu again so was not able to restart the shots so by doing that the meds i was on to help was stopped all of a sudden an my body went crazy. Did not know what was the flu an what wad my good antibodies. My hands arew swollen an super tight so sorry about words hard to type pn a phone. This is something i would never wish on mu worst emeny. An we do not know if a reflarw up will happen if we are able to stop thr damage that is being done an let my nerves heal. There is a chance yhis is payment because they did not catch it in time i went to er 3 times before being amitted because I had a pancreatitis attack an i never drank. They said it ws from my body attacking itself. I went in the hospital this last time for respiratory failure an that wad not food during this time that was the 3rd time being amitted for this. my doc sent me from his office to the hospital we new they would send me home like they did 2 times before about the same thing. So all together i been in hospital 3 times an i was also sent home 3 times before being amitted the 1st time an then being sent home 2 times after being kept twice. It affected my breathing an eating. I did not eat from Nov to march no solids at all. I looked lile death. I had to have blood the 1st time being kept. My body was saying it was full after drinking a glass of water or mtn dew. It was insane an very scarey. They told my dad that i needed to do my will an make sure my kids had somewhere to go for good that i might not make it out the last time. Ppl think it only goes after mouth an eyes when it goes after the whole body sometimes. I lost every tooth im my mouth due to this also. Could not keep up with my teeth rotting due to how dry my mouth was before i was told what i had. Im 34yrs old an i hate it.

For your sake and for your viewers sake, you should begin your videos with a disclaimer for legal reasons. You are not a doctor and the symptoms and experiences that you face while diagnosed with Sjögrens could be completely different for someone else. That’s the problem with autoimmune diseases; the amount of shared symptoms and the fact they take between 3-7 years to be properly diagnosed and the fact you can have more than one and you may have other health issues that become worse or better due to new medications are all YOUR personal experiences and though you may share similarities with other people, you should be very careful. Or legal reasons you need to begin your videos stating that you are not a doctor, you’ve never gone to med school, by law you cannot diagnosis anyone or give medical advice because someone may take your word for it and decide not to go to an actual doctor or diagnose themselves and die, etc etc. Just think about what happened with Trump recently. He told the country that plaquenil (hydrocloroquine sp?) was basically a cure and guess what? People overdosed and died that day. What else happened? People who need that medication for an autoimmune disease like lupus now cannot get their medication because doctors wrote out so many prescriptions that doctors instead have notes to their patients who NEEDED it “thank you for selfless and heroic SACRIFICE during this time” yeah. So long story short: words are powerful so please use them wisely and please put up a disclaimer before you end up being removed from KZfaq for being seen as dangerous.. or worse, you could end up being sued for wrongful death or speeding false or misleading information or just get served and end up in court because someone think you’re a danger to society. You’d be surprised. Kati Morton and The Rewired Soul are now seen for the frauds they are and it only took like half a decade to get others to see that they were just bullshitters in bed with BetterHelp.com LoL remember that steaming pile of shit? Anyway I hope you’re doing well and I’ll happily subscribe when you put that disclaimer up! ❤️
