Taking a look at the historical accuracy, fit & finish, handling, and blade quality of the Ashdown, a "battle-ready" sword inspired by 9th century Viking designs.
There are good and bad things about it. It's not exceptionally well made but not what I'd call poor quality either. Sort of middle of the road, which is fairly common on the reproduction market in the sub-$300 range. This however is priced at over $300, so that makes me take a harder look at the flaws...
