I've sent 15k to a skar evl 12 on a burp my old amp was a huge Korean half bridge monster

@@joshholden8561 I think the Skars can take much more than they say, they're very conservative with power ratings.

at 1,200 it started smelling right away, I think if you gave it 1,000 here and there it would be okay.

that's a great amp for how small and the cost is not bad either, does crazy power for how small it is too.

I don't know if you heard me and back off on the mofo. It started to smell as soon as I turned it up. It was going for a few seconds on that higher volume and instantly started smelling. My wife was complaining about the smell for a good half hour afterwards. I honestly think if I had it taking more than 1,200 watt's any longer I would have either hurt the sub or blown a coil in it. Quality wise everything should go to the mofo, yes, i am with you. But a test does not lie, real power does not lie. The moment I turned it up I and it hit higher numbers it started to smell, the SDR was cool calm and collected. I myself thought the mofo would out do the SDR, that was the whole reason I did the test against each other. I make other video's besides these also, for Instagram and TikTok, just 1 minute shorts, I could not make an honest video on the mofo because I thought it was going to get hurt. I will do another test on it just for you, I'll do a 1 minute short, I'm going to set it up to do the same power for the minute and see what happens.

@@SubzPawz looked like a sealed box and not sure how you could smell the coil if it was a sealed box.. anyways I'm still would take a mofo over and sdr any day of the week.

@@johnnyditommaso6807 I have 2 different enclosures for the 15's, one just slightly smaller and one just about that size. Like I said I'm going to try it in the other enclosure just for you, all the while live but I do not think it's going to make that much of a difference and I don't think we're going to get different results. I may eat my words and if I do I'll admit it but we'll see what happens. I just had my second grandson born l2 nights now, he's a day and a half old, so it may not be until the weekend, but I have everything all set and we'll see what happens.

Yeah, it said 3,000 watt's max, at 1,200 it started smelling coil in my house. My wife was complaining about it for an hour after and it was not even bad and I stopped it right away.

@@joshholden8561 it's not new, I had this sub for awhile now, played it in my van for sometime. I know the Gothics smelled, but I had three at one time and they were all breaking in at the same time. I'm going to try it in another enclosure and see what happens then.

@@z1berzerker I had 2 SDR 12's in separate enclosures at one time running and they started smelling really hot, not long after I had them going. They were on about RMS power maybe a little more and I'm glad I smelled them in time and backed off. They almost went. I know exactly what you mean. It did not take long either. Thank you.

Yeah. I first tested it in a fairly small box. I ended up testing it in a box double that size at just over 4 CF. That's where she shined the best. Thanks for your comment 😊

So the voice coil must be getting very hot. Very fast. I believe it stayed fairly close to 1 ohm too. So you should be getting close to your full load at times. Thanks for sharing and thank you for your comment 😊
