MOFO doesn't even struggle, the skar had to work WAY harder to make less happen. He's not testing Looks or brand opinions but the meat of things and MOFO is steak and potatoes , while skar is pork hot dog.... MOFO is and has been SUPERIOR by far.

So, the Skar was wired down to 1 ohm, but the Power Acoustik was wired to 2 ohms. How were they receiving the same Power? Did you have the amp turned down for the Skar tests? I understand you had the gain adjusted, but still. OR You could've just not bridged the amp for the Skar to keep both of them at 2 ohms, receiving equal power.

How are you gauging the wattage of the subs? And it is not fair to use a box not designed for either sub and call it b a great comparison. Spec the boxes and use the same impedance subs for your test no matter if you do it on camera or off, you will be surprised on the difference in what you will find

Bought a SDR for $99 plus tax on Amazon , literally 4 hours later Skar started there Black Friday Sale and you could get one for $84 out the door with free shipping , story of my life smh , picked up some speakers tho so not to upset lol

Running the amp in 2 ohms is a bit better for the sub it allows a bit more control. Not saying that it made a huge difference but it is better. Those two are neck and neck IMO it really comes down to looks and what you like.

why not test an sa-12 against the evl? SA rev 3's are under 200 bucks now because the v2's came out. i went with the sa's over the skar because they had more excursion and i heard sundowns are bulletproof. and I live sub 30hz basically. I'd be curious if theres a decent difference, all the comparisons online just swap both the subs into the same brand manufactured skar or prefab box.

U should do a demonstration on how much watts skar vvx can handle cuz I know they can handle over 600w..

I have 2 power acoustic gothic gw124 2500 watt subs bridged down to 2 ohms in a custom built box tuned to 31 hertz and they have a Kenwood 2000 watt class d monoblock 2 ohm stable amp pushing them and they make my roof bounce and windows rattle in my Chevy trailblazer

It all depends on how you wire it the cubic feet of the box and the amp you got I got to 12 mofos and my friend's got to 12 skar audio evl and mine is way louder and smoother

if interested ill share my specs for a power acoustik gothic sub ($70) and matching Walmart amp ($108) that would absolutely destroy most scar subs... btw, my box is under or right at 2 cubic FT tuned to around 35-36hz I remember correctly

Why “test” these subs with the trunk open. Nobody drives around listening to music with their trunks open. A much better gauge to how these are going to perform would be with trunk closed and realistic volumes and maybe also trunk open so people can see woofer excursion. Nice lookin box though. I’m still kickin around the idea of the sdr 2 12 inch sub package with the rp1200.1 for my new hr-v. I’m reading some bad reviews on Amazon about the subs going up in smoke or the terminals melting. This sounds more like improper gain settings and subwoofer clipping but before I drop $500+ trying to do as much research as I can.

Unless your amp puts out a thousand Watts at 2 ohms and at one ohm, both subs are not seeing a thousand Watts.
