I’m also in Houston and I haven’t had a car in 2 years, and now that I can drive again, I’m looking at cars, and I’ve already got my system suited and booted in my head! I’ve heard good things about the skar stuff, I’m going to go for a 500 watt JL mono amp into two thin mount 10s, JL or Fosgate. Not sure yet, but it’s going to be a downfiring box that’s very stealthy. Funny thing is I know about you from your bass channel, and I’ve been building cabinets for bass guitar AND building speaker boxes for subs the past 2 years. Funny how I’m into these two things and so are you, obviously you love good bass and good sound in all it’s forms! Keep up the good work Bully, chunk deuce!

Decent video and review. That box is not made for that sub, it’s stated on the site. It does not have enough air space also the reason you had to make the opening bigger for it to fit. Sub calls for 1.25 cubic feet and that box is only 1.1 cube not including the sub displacement. Build a proper box and it will bang even harder. 🤙🏻

I have this exact same sub and box in a Chevy c1500 single cab in middle with bucket seats.....my sub is a single "8" 900 watt rms...people think I have 12s.lol

they didn't have d2 available when I bought 4 of them. but I have the sk4500 gonna wire it down to a 2ohm load its 800w rms less then the subs want but hoping its good enough. great vid and cool guitars

I was going to get an 8 but I was scared of longevity due to my bass demands but still need trunk space.

Bro? Why did you go with the 8" sub? I mean I've used those but only in very small spaces like the cab of a pickup or a sports car that was a two-seater. In that vehicle you could have easily put at least a single 12" sub in a vented box and you wouldn't have lost any more space not really. Both boxes would have taken about the same amount of space maybe a couple of inches bigger but with the Box already taking up that space what's 2" taller deeper and wider a single 12 box would have still fit in that same space. But you would have gotten a much better low low and a few more decibels. Don't get me wrong I love 10" subwoofers. I built a box with six of them in my SUV and it stroked so damn hard and the Clarity was off the charts it felt like you were getting punched every time it hit. But even running a high end 10 It could only do so much for my low low.... it just couldn't achieve that lower frequency and the extra 2" of subwoofer surface area made a big difference. I guess to each their own but if I was you and I was already using that space a couple of inches each way would have been more than worth it to achieve more frequency response and over all decibels. It's a clean looking little sub but I just can't see using it when you have so much more space in a space you're already occupying. Anyway man good video you did really good explaining what you're doing. But if I were you bro go to 12"sub your frequency response will be so much more satisfying in the overall feel of your stereo.
