honestly the skar pre-fab boxes are great quality and sound great but you can never go wrong with a custom box that you can tune to your own liking! Honestly though only go to a locally know subwoofer box builder thats knows what they are doing! The subs need to meet certian specs but custom boxes can help them bang harder then ever! But for now they sound good in the pre-fab box!

For a 119.00 box, that skar box cant be beat. Sure, u can pay someone 500.00 and get a bit more out of it, but if ur not competing, nothing wrong with a budget banger.

@@covinobeatsi have two skar vxf 12s in the same box as u on an orion HCCA splx 3000.D @ 1 ohm and it has torn the sheet metal that holds the latch to the trunk closed. 142db on music. Id like a 4th order or 6th, but i cant build, cant afford to pay someone, and any more would kill my car. Windshield leaks, trunk is fked, but i like it😂

If you want to get a surprisingly higher amount of thump out of the subs then pull them from the box and snip off the solder and reinstall the subs to the box.

@@chrisx10 I spelt it wrong but it is melting the wire to a defined shape just at the end generally to connect two together but because it's solid you are getting less connection for the current to flow so it is restricting what you can pull from the Amp giving you less thump

@@donnydarrow5245 where is the solder? At the box terminals? At the sub terminals? I've often wondered how solder affects current but I figure as long as the copper wires have good contact to the other wire or terminal then the solder wouldn't disrupt flow but I dunno 🤷

100% wrong! It's a thin metal that melts wire to metal! It flows current just like the wire does! Cutting it off will only increase chances of disconnection and aggravation in the future. Please don't make comments that are complete garbage!

@@stevie8268 Hey man! I know this response is two weeks late, but I will answer from my experience. I have had these subs for a long time now. I think I recall the break in period being about a good week and a half before they were at their peak. As a testament to these subs, I have had them for a long time and they are still doing great.

Your shxx is hitting hard.I got 2 Skar 12's SDR 2ohm with a 1500 Skar Amp pushing them. My shxx is beating hard, clear and crisp. Skar has really surprised me.

Turn the box around facing inside of car and leave a seat down for it the sub breath. For me it gave me cleaner bass and less rattle if any but people be looking from far away.

@@nandobarajas6059 yeah man those amps are fkin awesome little tanks. I beat the hell out of mine, not clipping but right to the point for hours on end and it puts up with it. I have a 120a power converter hooked up to my car so I just plug it in and jam away, clean 14v to the amp with the car off it’s so nice.

I got same rp1200 and skar sdr 12s That box is tuned to 32 hz ppl dont realize that.I also got the ofc copper wires and the sky ho big 3 ofc copper if u get that cca bs it gets up to 250 degrees which can send amp to protect ,the ofc stays under 100 degrees

if you wanna go louder with these i highly recomend getting a crossover and and an eq if possible a 2nd battey or the big 3 upgrade for more power as you might need it, i got these in a ram and shits be flexing my rear glass

Just bought this setup I previously had 2 12 inch sundown audio sa v3s with a custom ported box tuned to 35 hz with a sundown sae2000 it bumped but I had to buy a battery cause it required it anyways stupid dealer said that I needed 2 batteries that were rated at 750 rms each so I hooked it up all parallel like you’re supposed to lol one day the 2 batteries touched it messed up the main battery and both batteries died I was pissed off but ended up buying a new duralast battery with a ds18 inf. 65 battery it freaking slammed but unfortunately the amp fried due to being so cheap quality I sold the subs and now I’m about to get this one for my ride but it’s not going to sound as loud as the sundowns I might upgrade the subs to the sundown U series they are sick 1,500 rms each 12” 2 of those with a taramps 5k 😮😮😮 shitsgonna slam it has to

Im looking to purchase the dual 8inch kit 1,400 Watts. I know nothing about subwoofers and want to know if my car battery will be ok. I just bought my car second hand 2014 Kia Rio and keep hearing about people saying that your battery will drain and this and that. Your remote wire or 12V wire isn’t hooked up correctly. Your 12v should be connected straight to the positive terminal on the battery. The remote wire should be tapped into a connection (typical at the fuse box) that only gets power when the car is on.

Put the speakerbox with speakers facing inside with the port also facing inside.put the amp on the opposite side of the speaker box and dampen your trunk with sound dampening tape so that u will get nice clean bass without excessive rating. Withe the box along with port and speakers facing inside u will get a better bass effect !

Hard to tell if a custom box sounds way different over a video. It’s amazing how many people hate on anyone who can’t drop the cash on a custom enclosure. If this dude likes it, be happy for him. He has a 1200 watt amp, he’s not running a 17k trying to break 160 in a DB drag race

Plug and play into your car battery. If your battery is on the older side and the speakers are pushing enough power you might want to upgrade the battery, alternator, or both.

@@oTylxrz from what most people say the rule of thumb for stock electrical is 1000 TRUE watts or so. anything higher than that you want to consider upgrading. seems logical to me. im ordering a 1000w upgrade for my fiances car. im doing 800watts on bass and 200 on mids and highs. theres realy easy math formulas too you can look up and use to see what your specific stock electrical can handle up to

I threw 2 12 svr with 1500 in my 23 scat charger shit hits only thing u gonna have to mess with the rear deck to get rattle gone because it will rattle from the air flow blowing on the carpet. Seperate the part the sits agaianst the back glass with some weather strip or foam shit and stuff some shirts under deck dont put shit on top deck speakers tho. Run ight voltage go down like 13.8 for split second on hard af hit shit but go right back. I aint got no cap no big 3 or anything jus the 230 altenater and battery came with

i got these awhile back still new in the plastic here got me the ofc 4 guage and the rp1200 i had the rp1500 sent it back for the 12 then wished i kept the 1500 then the assholes had a fucking sale for 3 months i overpaid.I just got an audiopipe apcle 2500 d amp and a Zeus 3200 watt amp duno0 which to use may sell the skar and the amp and buy 2 evl instead dunno what to do

with a 1500 watt amp to feed the amp you are gonna want to run 1/0 wire and in the full set from skar the kit you up with a 2000 so you should be fine.
