After quitting skateboarding more than two decades ago, my 40's were calling and I couldn't resist skating again. Here are the tricks I've learned over the last two years.

Recently started again at 44 after some 25 years. It's so addictive. Seems like a lot of us OGs from the 80s and 90s are picking it up again 🙂

I’m going through a divorce right now and found my Jason Jesse Neptune reissue my wife bought me as a gift 10 years ago. I love the art and nostalgia as that was one of my first boards at 12 years old. It’ll remain a walk hanger but inspired me to get skating again. As well as your comment. I’m a 44 year old construction worker.

Me too, 47 and just started last week, definitely work in progress, at skatepark this morning lots of wipe outs lol but that's ok, at 230lbs it really takes alot to balance lol my first fall/roll seemed to go on forever , thought I was going to roll right up the other side to the coping lol but all in all great experience much more cautious than when we were 15 but hey having some fun, great videos!

I haven't stopped skating since I was 12, am I now 31. After the intro I really wasn't expecting you to throw down so many tricks and they were clean! You are too modest, you really need to give yourself a pat on the back , you probably learned more in a couple years than I did in 5. Big love from the UK ❤

Dude! I love this video. I skateboarded religiously from the age of 9 until I was 20. I loved everything about it. I got married had kids and skateboarding became a past time. I have always still thought about it constantly. I have always had dreams about. I am always watching all the new videos that come out. I have always truly missed it. I am now 38 years old and you have inspired me to get back on the board and let the good times roll! I bought a complete and I can't beleive how much I have forgotten! I can still Ollie and kick flip and ride and all the easy stuff. However, it is soooo much fun to feel this feeling again. Challenging myself to re-learn all the old tricks with these old bones is so rewarding. Thank you so much for the final push to get me back on the board. You are the man!

You're awesome 🙌 I'm 34 years old. I actually didn't take a long break compared to other comments. It was only four years. But my lifestyle became sedentary since COVID. I work sitting on a desk 8 hours a day. Drive an hour to go to work and another one to go home. I started running and doing small skate sessions again and OMG i found out that i lost all my physical ability. Breathing hardly because of smoking and my body was in constant pain. This is a wakeup call. Stay active, keep skating and enjoying a healthy lifestyle. Good luck

SO GLAD I FOUND THIS VIDEO ! I am 35 and never was a "skateboarder". when i was young i would push around on one and bomb my neighborhood hill and ollie over small sticks / curbs and thats about as far as it went for me. I got into sports ( football , basketball , track ) and didnt touch a board since. Randomly i got this weird "itch" to want to learn. so here i am watching videos and having a custom board made for me. ( not expecting much , other than some more scars / stories to tell haha ) its pleasing and easing to see more "seasoned" ppl getting back at it / still doing it.

I just put together a Powell Peralta re-issue of my board back in the 80's. Took my kids to the sporting goods store to buy them protective gear for their roller skates and I saw the skateboards there and I hopped on one and it all came back! Straight away, I we went to the skateboard shop and saw my old baby look-a-like there and ordered it up right then. So amped to get back into this at 42. Just hoping my sciatica, weathered knees and pained flat feet dont get in my way too much. LOL! If anything, it'll be nice crusing the boardwalks again.

Thank you for sharing as this is very encouraging. I was getting burnt out and nothing I have tried seems to help. I can honestly say that skating was one of those things in my past that made me very happy. I was fortunate to have friends who still skate and they encouraged me to try again. Now being 49, I was able to get my dream board reissue (Lucero) and really have no excuse not to try again. Skating saved me before and I am hoping that it will save me again. Wish me luck and hopefully it will be a long term thing.

I’m 39 just getting back into skateboarding. I was a hardcore skater from 1998-2015. I was pretty good in my athletic prime. I had most flip tricks and grinds consistent. Skated the park the first time yesterday riding felt awkward at first but felt more natural after about ten minutes. Landed a clean Ollie first try. I’m trying to get my bearings back. I’m hoping I have it in me to get at least close to as good as I once was.
