This is a fully 3D printable RC snowmobile. I have been designing and tweaking it for a long time now and I think it's time to start sharing how it is going.
This was designed from the very beginning with easy assembly and minimal purchased parts as the goal. I think I have accomplished that goal. Everything is printed except for: Electronics, screws, bearings, and shocks. It can be printed on a print bed 200mm x 200 mm or larger. Most items do not need any supports but there are a few that will need some.
My plan is to sell the files at myminifactory. I hope to make the files affordable, but free isn't the plan right now. After I get some good testing in the snow I will make the files available for purchase.

Many of the parts of my design are inspired from other snowmobile projects that I have seen. I have reached out to those that some of my work might resemble. If you feel something looks similar to your work and you did not receive a message from me please reach out to me. Nothing in my design is a modified version of others work, All of it was hand made by me, but some may still resemble that of images I used for reference.

Thank you! It’s not nearly as refined as pascals sleds, but I take that as a big compliment to be compared to his work. I’m really excited to see how it performs in some deep snow. Keep a lookout, I’ll post a video as soon as I get some snow.

@@BuildItBetter3D its better than what i could do for sure, but the only thing id change is the way u connect the track with maybe a carbon fiber rod or somthing still keeping it light but works pribably better, i just mod the new bright sleds, i actuly have a video up of breaking jy yellow ome

Carbon fiber rod is a good idea. I’ll have to keep an eye out for a good deal to try it. I just watched your vid, wish I had snow like that to be running in now. Looks fun, I’m sure you’ll have it fixed in no time.

Looking good! Although I'd recommend to use Autodesk Inventor for 3d printing to avoid those triangles and keep everything smooth.

I actually designed it in blender to have the triangles. I like the low poly look so it was done on purpose. I could easily add a subdivision modifier to make it all smooth the way you get from perimetric modeling but that wasn’t the look I was going for. Thanks for the comment, if there’s a lot of interest in me making it smooth I will consider changing it.

i have not built it but someone i know have and infront of the headlights just glue a piece of clear plastic so snow doesnt cover it when deep snow riding

How much roughly did it cost to build and how much filament did you use? My school has a 3d printer i can use but it charges by how much filament you use so i would like to know how much it used

Less than 2kg of filament. I think it’s pretty close to just over 1kg, but a lot depends on how many walls and how much infill you use. For all the hardware and electronics you can get it done for $200-$1500 depending on what brand and quality you buy.

the shocks listed in the description are the wrong size, holes are too small to fit m3 screws and the ball ends aren’t big enough, also they don’t seem quite long enough

Just pop the ball ends out. It’s hard to find short shocks with m3 ball ends. The long shock should have m3 holes.

Do you have any videos explain the latest upgrades? I’m struggling with some of them knowing what’s compatible or not with my purchase few weeks ago. So I built everything stock but now I’m wanting to implement the upgrades but don’t know where to began. If you could assist me please?

Only video I have on upgrading is for the front suspension. I do recommend using the new suspension with rack steering. The other mods are more personal preference. The most commonly used is the skid mod that you can find a diagram for in the build guides on the discord server.

Just purchased the files and only have TPU at the moment while waiting for some PLA+ in the mail so figured i would give it a try doing the track TPU since it might be a little quieter , first section is 70% done and looking good.

@@Evilslayer73 Yeah i'll post one once the track is finished but it will be awhile before actually running one on a sled because i haven't started the sled yet. after attaching 8 sections, first impression is that TPU is well suited for the track and and is very quiet when it's moving, ithere is defently some flex in it lengthwise due to the squares in the design (real tracks use belts like a tire to fight against this). not sure if it's going to pose too much of an issue until it's actually tested on a sled but track tension is going to be much more important to get dialed in if going this route.

@@widgget yeah the tension will definately different!! and maybe by increasing the infill too will help with stretching of the track.. some tpu are more harder and less stretchy like the 3d hero tpu like they sell on amazon

I’m using 3S 1500mAh 100C battery. Others have said they are using bigger batteries. Lots of info in the pdf included with the files. Also lots of good help and info on the discord channel.

What motor is in that cuz when I got to the motor esc combo I did not see the wires coming from the motor so I want to know witch motor to use

This is the motor I have in my green sled. It’s too high kv though and I wouldn’t get one that high kv again. amzn.to/36ujXe6 using a 10bl120 esc with it.

There were many updates through January or February. If you downloaded the files before then I would suggest downloading again. There are also many new mods available on their own page on MyMiniFactory.

You’ll need a print area of 200mm x 200mm. The Ender 3 seems to be the common one used for it.

I must say good job! I’m thinking of buying the files but I was wondering if my printer has a large enough print space for the parts to print. I have a Flashforge Finder which is 140x140x140mm. Would this be big enough?

Many items would fit, but you will need 200x200mm for a few parts.

It was designed specific to fit that gear, but others might have the same bolt pattern and still work. Just have to check to see if dimensions are the same.

Yes, there is a new seat added as a mod. It made the seat part removable and can fit a good sized battery.

No, not yet. I do hope to have a 1/10 version in the future. Some people have just scaled all the parts in their slicer but then you need to figure out new hardware to fit.

Buying through MyMiniFactory is just files for you to 3D print yourself. If you want to buy a sled already printed you’ll need to join us on discord. There’s authorized sellers on the discord channel.

Wondering what size battery you are running and is we could get a better look atthe a-arm suspension and steering linkage also what is the overall length im looking at buying your plane and building one myself

Overall length is approx 23 inches. I have two sleds set up right now, one has a 3S 100C 1500mah lipo and the other has a 4S 75C 1500mah lipo. Your choice will depend on the motor and speed controller you use. Getting a motor and speed controller that is sensored will give you better slow speeds and power control, but it's more expensive. I have a video that will be up within a couple days that shows the front suspension assembly, that will give you a good look at it. If you join discord there is a list with links to items such as motor, speed controller, etc.

do you suggest sealed bearing for the track bearing?

The ones I’m using are not sealed. They are the cheapest stainless steel I could find. So far they’re doing well, and since they’re cheep it’s not a big deal to replace if I have to. Sealed would be good too, then you’d probably never need to replace them.
