Sketching in Gouache-Loose & Expressive Florals

Here I am, back from a hiatus of creative work. My sketchbook allows me to be expressive and forgiving. It feels good to get back into it and in some ways, it's like I haven't left! Thank you for staying on this channel and checking in to see what's happening.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Susan. I am so interested in the way that you hold your brush so close to the end and yet seem to have a lot of control. I will definitely want to try this. Also, it looked like you were using small, flat brushes instead of round brushes. Can I ask what you were using? The final composition is just lovely!

Hi Kathleen, thanks for your comment here and glad you like the composition! For this one, I used short handled brushes, mostly with the #4 filbert,#3 round (for branches/small buds) and a small flat, possibly a #6.
