This video is about the modeling a terrain in SketchUp with 2 different methods. You need contour lines to create the terrain anyway, so, you can create the contour lines in AutoCAD then import to SketchUp or draw the contour lines directly in SketchUp.
But, I find it easier to import from AutoCAD, in SketchUp you have to use freehand tool or arcs, or use a plug-in.
As I said, I find it easier but you can use any tool you choose!
