Thinking of a 129” rail extension or long track conversion? Look no further this video will help with bolt template specifications.
We wanted a 129” rail extension so We remove the stock XP Snowmobiling Suspension Skid (Shock, Rails, Hyfax Sliders, Rear Suspension) in the 2009 Ski-Doo MXZ X 600 e-tec and replace with as 129 RMotion Consumer Skid. What a game changer, we are so pleased and it works amazing. We do recommend a tunnel Extension and will be installing one in a future video. Ski-Doo Snowmobile mods are a lot of fun and fairly easy if you have the right tools and friends ;-)

Its a night and day improvement over thje stock SC5 120" and I like it even better than the SC5 137" that was in my renegade - Much better on the trails and I didnt really notice any difference in the deep stuff. Thanks for watching!

2 seasons later and still working great! Did a tunnel extension (need to do this) and then added x package shocks and a tunnel adjuster for rebound

Actually that groove in the brake pad is to allow the gases that build up between brake pads and brake rotor when braking to escape so you dont get brake fade

Nice content & great video . I'm a new XP owner ,.. 08 MXZ TNT 500ss . What's the benefits of an R-motion skid over the stocker ? If I were to swap down the road , is there an R-motion skid in the 120's ?

Rmotion is like riding on a cloud. A lot better in the bumps and stutters. Yes they did come in 120in not sure if the track is the same between the 2 - that you would need to research yourself.

Great detailed video. I'm thinking on installing the rMotion from a 2016 XRS 129 into my 2009 Renegade 1200 (XR chassis I understand is the same as XP/XS other than plastics and engine mounts) to replace my 137" SC5. I'd just keep it as 129 but then I have to replace the studded 137 track so will probably add rail extensions to the 129 so it'll be a 137 rMotion......with 129 mounting locations I assume are different than the actual rMotion 137 mounting locations. Sounds like no matter what the spacing is I'll need to relocate the front and rear mounts simply for going to rMotion of any length. How was the difference in ride vs the SC5?

Don’t use rail extensions. Just get a 137 emotion skid. Night and day difference from sc5 to rmotion. So much better ride hands down.

@@mudbrats well yes I was looking for one but found a 129 XRS like new rMotion but no 137's for awhile. I could just keep waiting.

@@mudbrats Even better presumably would be the rMotionX but then it's specifically designed for the Gen4 chassis and the rMotionX's 137 version was designed from the start as a 137 vs the rMotion which started as a 120 and was progressively lengthened to 129 and 137. But beggars can't be choosers and its hard enough to find an rMotion 137 let alone an rMotionX.

Nice video but I didn't see how you determined where to relocate the rear skid mounting brackets. Is it just a measurement from old position?

ideally you would just get XS 129 brackets and rivit them in the same holes that the xp bracket came from. in this case the local dealer screwed up and sent me the same brackets from and xp so we just put them in the spot where the skid lined up

I did this to my xp and when I hit big bumps the track hit the rear of the tunnel only in the center by the flap. Its bent it up. Any thing I can do about this?

I am sure the front mount will haave to move like this. Get the skid and then see how they shape up.

depends on the shop really. You need the skid, the track, the tunnel extension etc. I was lucky to find a good used skid with shocks and sliders, had the track off another sled i was buying but it fell through… youd likely be around $2000 for everything if u find some good used components
