Peace and love to you, Jan, thanks so much for the wonderful view from your world. Sending good positive energy to you from Sedona,Az. Ya know, I never really knew that Iceland was such a skier's dream. But now it makes perfect sense given the geologic nature of the landscape. Wow. A snowboarder's Heaven. No pine trees that could ruin your day. Or life. But just as in life, there are always dangers lurking right below the surface. Hiding and waiting for a fall. In this metaphor, Rock piles. Even Heaven has it's imperfections. That's a part of why it's Heaven. One love, my brother, sail on in wonder. Peace

Hey Drew! Thanks for sharing this. Growing up in the woods, I see what you mean with pine trees but rust me, sometimes I wish we had more opportunity to hide from the weather and ski in the trees on the stormy days. Because without them it is you either can go riding or it's impossible to see anything in that whiteout haha. Oh well, gotta keep them planting for next generations...

Hi Jan, wow what a beautifully scenic video. The snow covered mountains are really nice to see. I was surprised to see that there is not that much powdery snow to ski on in some parts. I guess if it is really cold and has not recently snowed the snow would get pretty compacted. It seems like the nicest powdery snow was near your home in the Troll Peninsula. In the scene where the helicopter dropped you off on the top of the mountain how do you get back up once you ski down? It didn't look like a Ski Resort area.

Hello Ben, thank you! There hasn't been too much snow this winter, unfortunately but in general many parts of Iceland don't get very good powdery conditions because of all the wind and so it is always just some parts of the island with a good snow, but one needs to really know where to go to find it. The helicopter scene, that's from when I was shooting some photos for one of the heli ski companies - the way heli skiing works is that they drop you off on the top of some mountain, you ski down and meanwhile the helicopter is already waiting for you at the bottom. And then they fly you up again, for a full day of heliskiing it's usually 6 runs like that, it depends on the company.
