SKIERS AND SNOWBOARDERS STOP DOING THIS

Being in the mountains is such an incredible experience and sometimes we just have to accept that the weather or the conditions can be less than ideal. It is easy to moan about life on the ski hill when the conditions are not right but to improve your experience why not try some of the following tips.
1) Hedge your bets - Book a ski resort that has access to a multi-resort ski area. This way if conditions suck where you are it's possible to use buses, trains or lifts to get to some decent conditions.
2) Work on technique - Spending time working on the things you find hard or want to improve is a great way to spend time when the conditions suck. That way when the conditions improve you will be a better skier or snowboarder and will benefit from it.
3) Try a new discipline - If conditions are bad consider learning a different discipline. When conditions are not great I like to go skiing as it offers me a different challenge and way to look at the mountain.
4) Ski Resort Activities - Every ski resort has loads of other activities you can try; Fat biking, ice-skating, zip-lines etc etc.... fill your boots!
5) Take a break - Often taking a moment to enjoy the scenery helps reset your mind knowing that you will soon be back amongst the 9-5.

Morzine had a team. Where I am in the Grand Massif Samoëns also has a team. I used to love watching the Kamloops Blazers whilst working at Sun Peaks

I went to the grand massif around 2 weeks ago for the day but it was so insanely busy and an important chair was closed so we got one single decent short run (you know the black thats litterally just below the really busy main bubble lift that one)

Which resort were you in. I’ve been here for 3 weeks currently… there have definitely been busier days but I haven’t experienced anything as bad as you described. Sorry you had a bad experience

@@Simonjburgess We started at morrilion lift and went up that and the sarion, we got to the top of the sarion and found that the coulouvbier chair was closed so we had to go all the way to le carroz via the kedeuze lift and skiing all the way down to the tete de saix chair from there and then at the top of that was the top of the closed lift the coulouvbier. Then we went to flaine the normal way with the vernant chair and then got to the bottom of the grandes platiers lift which took us half an hour to get on because of the huge queues. At the top we realised that we had litterally like 10 minutes of ski time at the top because of the time it would take to get all the way back to Chamonix where we were staying in our flat. So all we had time for was to go down the diamant noir run and back up the diamant noir chair and go the whole way back home with just one decent run in the day. We had gone to the grand massif last season as well in around febuary. The queue for that grandes platiers lift was still around half an hour but once we got up there due to not having to do a massive detour we ended up with around 3 hours of time up at the top which was really enjoyable until near the end I broke my rib on a jump but thats not important. (Don't worry I was completely fine)

Nice, that’s where I have been based, Morillon. Yes heading over to Flaine is never the best idea on a busy day. Best to stay in the villages. Les Carroz has some brilliant runs and some are tucked away so people forget about them. I hope you give the Grand Massif another chance… it’s worth it in the right conditions. Coulouvrier has just opened and it’s made a massive difference
