This ski is sooooo sick. I love it. I can run this on powder or resort. It does not feel like 120 under foot.

Are they ok on groomers?! I’m a casual skier and love powder but want to use them all mountain. I just ordered them! I hope I don’t feel bad and wish I went with 110 lol

I have been skiing the 120 chetlers for about two months now and they are the most fun ski I have ever skied. I totally recommend these skis only if you have powder on your local mountain

I'm an advanced skier and never ski switch but I tried these yesterday on a deep day at Mammoth and loved them. Skied a 176 and could have used a bit more up front for even more confidence. Could I get that by simply moving the mount back a bit since I'm not going to go backwards? I'm 47 years old love to slash turns, take small jumps and drop a ledge here and there into soft snow. I'm 5' 8" and 150 lbs.

Yup! We've found that for more directional skiers, moving the bindings to a -4 works pretty well.

Quick question on these for you -- I recently moved to SW Montana and am considering this as my soft snow/powder ski. I like to drive my skis, but am considering the 184 BC 120 because it is maneuverable and a) might help build confidence in steep & deep powder, and b) I think these would be a lot of fun in bumps and trees. I currently ski a 177 Kendo, which feels short and stiff anywhere but groomers. Also considering the Rustler 11 in a 188. I'm 6' 165# and am thinking I'd mount at -2 from the line.. Curious to hear why you think I shouldn't pick up a set of used BC 120s :) (or, if I should go with something narrower/stiffer like an Enforcer 104) Thanks!

Hey Sam! Bent Chetler 120 sounds like it would be a lot of fun for you! Relatively manageable and also somewhat versatile considering how wide they are. I do think it would help you build some confidence in deep snow and techy terrain as they're so light, so easy to maneuver, and provide great float. Rustlers could work too, but they feel a little heavier, and maybe not what you need. You could, of course, go narrower, and would probably be fine, but if you've got your sights set on the BC 120, there's no major reason why it wouldn't work for your application.

I’m 130lb 5’9”, would 176 be good for these? Thinking of doing a slight back mount for more directional skiing. Are these good skis for tackling ungroomed steeps and moguls?

This ski is fine to size up on due to the longer rocker profile and taper shape. For the width, they do just fine in steeps and bumps, but they're not super quick due to that waist.

Bent Chetler feels more energetic. Snappier, bouncier, and a little lighter too. Nocta has a more surfy, smeary vibe. It doesn't feel quite as energetic or poppy, but smoother and arguably a little more stable at speed, but that's a pretty small difference.

Would it be a good idea to put a look pivot 15 binding on the ski so they can be a alpine ski and touring ski?

HI Luke! I'm assuming you'd be using the Cast system for the touring application, in which case, you are not going to get an argument here. That'll be a bomber setup, a bit heavy, but total control and confidence on the downs. Have fun! SE

Hey I would like to know what length I should get … I’m 184 (6’0) advanced -expert skier and would like to take them with me on my next trip to japan. Maybe also add the cast touring system for short touring trips up the hill. 70% powder& some trees 10% touring 20% pistes if needed. Should I go for the 192 or 184? Thanks

I'd go with the 192 if you're looking for maximum flotation. They do ski a bit short due to the rocker so you can go longer if you're in between sizing.

Would these skis hold up for a big guy (250) skiing powder days in the woods? Also would a more centered mount point make up for the softer tail?

I think just fine. They have the carbon backbone, and a whole lot of surface area, so you should be good. The factory line is already pretty darn centered--we've actually had more positive feedback going at least -4 from that line for more directional skiing. Have fun! SE

I ride on these true center, which is last forward directed mounting mark, i can't say they float so good. I'am 185pounds, riding on 184cm lenght. Compared to other skis i've rode in past (also true center) especially K2 hellbent, pettitor.

@@oskarfreeski Like i said, my previous skis were also mounted true center, and float no problem. bent chetlers just on the stiffer side in terms of flex. Other skis can also be mounted slightly back.

I'd say the 184--these skis can be sized up, especially if you're looking to put an emphasis on flotation, which I'd imagine you are if you're shopping a 120.

Is it ok to mount in the middle of the ski?

Yes, although they are pretty flexible so there's not a whole lot of ski in front of the bindings.

I have tried both 184 and 192cm versions. 184cm feels way too short due to all the rocker. 192 feels too long. Especially in the woods. I'm 185cm tall. Argh. Wish they had a 188cm model.

I believe it's okay to size up on these skis due to the dramatic rocker and maneuverable nature.

I had some 176s and mounted +1 from recommended, wayy too short and awkward spot, sold them and I bought new 184s mounted -1 from recommended and they're perfect (Im 178 cm)
