They must have made a deal with Makita because it almost exactly the same as the 36volt rear handled circ. Which means it's a great saw or at least a very good saw.

The blade guards on the Makita saws suck. They get hung up all the time. I had to manually operate it pretty much every cut. I recently had my 36V Makita and Skil worm drive stolen so I took a chance on this one hoping to replace both of them. The blade guards on the Skil saws work like a dream, including this one.@@evarsonazevedo5321

I was intending to go Metabo with my new line...but didn't really have the deals I expected/wanted ...and I wasn't fast enough when the clearance came around to get the super deal...so.. But I'm impressed with the Skil 20v and Skil lineup that I have. Impact,drill,basic circ saw ( I'll upgrade to this eventually) and the router kit ( plunge base included /corded) Really dig the router so far... I don't have a real issue with mixing and matching. I ha e friends with almost every platform so. When we are all working( just diy /amateur building stuff ) together somebody usually always has an extra battery surprisingly. Skil ( bcuz Chervon has upgraded it) is much better than the old days of basically basic b&d consumer needs tools that once before the name.

6:10 gotta hand it to Skilsaw & Skil for their circ saw dust chutes…. They are wood blowers when comes to throwing the saw dust away from tool. The one thing I’ve had trouble with from past saws, is the vac attachment always slips off the saw or the vac hose from time to time and kinda annoying. Hoping they’ve fixed that issue now, or maybe just me 🤔 lol. Impressive saw & that charger is H U G E, but does dual rapid, NICE👍🏻 The other thing I’ve noticed from Skil tools, is if battery gets below 50° (55 at times too), it won’t charge & light says “bad battery”; till warms up & it’s good to go. Have other tools, that don’t do this so, anyone else experienced this battery “cold thing” Cheers✌🏻

Looks like a great saw. Skil worm drive used to be the only saw acceptable on the job site. I framed and stacked houses late 90'sb -2009. Remember when hey first came out with the red handle mag 77 , THAT was a game changer. The biggest game changer for me was when they came out with impact drivers. Alot harder to hang shutters and driving 3½ screws over your head with a drill. Unless skil improves the entire 20v tool lineup to at least metabo standards then I don't see many people investing in this line of batteries just to have this saw.

Vince your never wrong. But last night I was at Home Depot picked up the Milwaukee M12 oscillator for a back up to my M18 but this morning I go to try it out and it's used and missing the nut to hold the blades. Went back today to exchange the tool and they did not want to return it because they thought I was lying. After getting a manager and saying I'm going to call the owners of Home Depot in Atlanta and the police just getting sick and tired people stealing stuff out of the boxes or exchanging out tools. Either stores need to do better jobs or tool companies need to package the tools better so this comes to a end. It's getting worse and worse these people. Have a good night brother 💯🇺🇸

The saw looks pretty mean and seems powerful. The depth of cut on the SKIL, especially at a 45 degree angle 📐 was impressive. Game changer though? Ehhhh.....I’m not seeing it. It takes two batteries which would get really annoying after awhile. Makita found a solution for that with their XGT line. The higher voltage with the 40v battery I believe is a total game changer. The greatest saw on planet earth, being the cordless Mag77 was definitely a game changer. The only saw with perfect balance because of the battery placement was absolutely genius. I could see somebody getting the SKIL though if they’re already on the platform and they don’t wanna pony up for the mag77. One thing I would really love to see SKIL and SKILSAW do is to start putting numbers (inches) on the depth of cut adjustment instead of the type of material you’re going to be cutting. The saw I’m hoping to be the next game changer is the HILTI Neuron. Really excited about that one hitting the shelves. There’s just something about a blade left rear handle saw that really does it for me. Know what I mean? 😃👍

None of that spur, helical etc etc bullshit😂😂, no offense I have many, but it’s the real deal. Battery placement was genius like you said. Very balanced. Take care brother 💯✊

@@black_dragon-carpentry I hear you brother. I can really speak on the corded Skilsaw rear handle. Never used them. I went from the corded dewalt and MAKITA sidewinder’s to the cordless saws. I was just speaking from my experience I guess. I’m in the concrete business and a circular saw for form setting is a must have obviously and one of my favorite tools to use. I’m always interested in learning the history behind them. I love essential craftsman’s Skilsaw videos as well as VCG. It does seem that the tools these days are loaded with features and shit like that but it’s 2022. Technology is advancing everyday to where the battery saws are outperforming corded. My dad is old school and it took a lot of convincing 🤣 to finally get him to use a corded saw.

I think it's time for Ryobi to step up the game for circular saws. That stamped steel shoe is what's holding them back. I like how Skil is trying to distinguish themselves. Where I have found the quality of how well the saw does, is the thickness of the base. With a thicker base, you don’t have to worry about the base flexing. Next is the connection of the base to the body of the saw, and the angle brackets. Are they metal or plastic, how solid are they?

SkilSaw is my favorite, the cordless has been my go to since it came out, but the corded has been my go to since my early days!

How's the weight and balance? I know my Milwaukee 7 1/4 gets weird with the weight of a 12 Ah battery in it.
@VCGConstruction
@VCGConstruction 2 жыл бұрын
Weight is very manageable and I think that because it a very balanced saw.

SKIL Resurection... it deserves that, SKIL is a brand with History! since they made the SKILSAW Model E in 1924, thousands of U.S. homes were made with the SKILSAW. Good job from Chervon (HK) Ltd.; China, they are doing what BOSCH never did, to honor and respect the brand.

I see skill being the entry level to apprentice lineup, carrying over into SKILSAW & FLEX as one progresses to more pro level ...I think that's the way things look for them ...just a guess. I mean Lowes has Craftsman but...other than hand tools...not even interested in the battery or tool lineup. I still have an old set of Craftsman cordless 19.2 OG -ish Craftsman ( considered anyway) that still work & run well. But, upgrades are needed to do better more finished work.

I have a question for you? Anyway I can email or talk with you really quick. I purchased an item from Home Depot. They delivered 1 out of 2 items and they refunded me the full refund because the other item got lost. So I still have one item which is pretty much free but I was going to return it. Do you think I’d still be able to return it? Any info would be amazing thanks brother

You won't get another refund since they already gave you the full amount. The system will just kick out. Just sell it on Facebook marketplace, it'll sell quick.
