All the other drills in that chart are proper SDS drills whereas from what I read these two things are just old fashioned Hammer Drills will an SDS sort of chuck on them. These would have been so much of a better balanced drill if the battery was moved back.

They are actually proper SDS hammers inside, believe it or not! Some of these tiny hammers have a spring loaded thing inside (like the flexiclick) but near as I can tell these actually have the proper mechanism. Just very small and with a weak old motor

@@BoltahDownunder Not according to reviews on Amazon UK. Maybe you need to open one up to see the mechanism inside.

Looks like I'll have to! But I'm 99.99% those reviews are wrong, as hammer/combi drills and rotary hammers work very differently. This drill has the small chin under the chuck which accommodates the drive shaft, and it also hammers without pressing onto the material, which combi hammers cannot do

Have you done anymore with the Bosch Flexiclick SDS attachment? It'd be hilarious if that adapter and a ryobi drill could beat these two. I guess that Bosch attachmwnt costs more than these rotohammers with a battery and charger, though

Yeah I actually found a whole set with the driver too. It's quite nice, will post something about it soon

That battery placement is awful. They're saving maybe 20mm max in tool height but making it way more awkward and front heavy

But it stands up by itself, and that's good for the diy market I guess? Holding it by the front post instead of a proper side handle is bloody awful too

Another attempt at making a drill anything, drive anything DIY super drill. The Bosch easy hammer is much better executed IMO, but then it's a much newer design. They would've learnt from the Skil thing
