Applying a well known method of using a highpass and gaussian blur to quickly soften skin in Affinity Photo, allowing you to quickly remove blemishes, wrinkles, acne scars, dark spots, blackheads from face naturally .
I will also apply some of the previous tips on the image.

This is good, but for new people, slow down and point out what you are clicking on at each step before you click on it.

I think for Pc users this only works when you come to do the high pass filter step you don't use to use the live filter but go to the top menu and use the dropdown, Filters, sharpen and you will find the high pass there.

For some reason when I use the live high pass filter I do not get the same result when using the vivid light blend mode. It does work though when you use the high pass filter from the Filters tab and then apply the vivid light blend mode. Must be an issue with Affinity Photo? In any case, your tutorial was helpful and very well done!

Thank you very much! Yes there might be an issue with live filters in Affinity Photo. In my version, when applying a live filter, the blend ranges to do not work (workaround is to group it and then apply the blend range on the group).

Great technique, but why not use the built in Frequency Separation filter?

Good point! That is definitely a valid option. There are many ways of achieving skin softening, just sharing another (quicker/easier) alternative :) Probably the freq.separation method will get better results at the end, but this method is quick and dirty and will get the job done. Another thing to keep in mind is that the build in Frequency Separation is destructive. See also my video on that matter: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jc2cdNChmrWRlWg.html

sorry to say it doesnt work .especially the two layers dont regroup into one on applying vivid blend mode to texture as you demonstrated ...

Yeah another youtuber in what is meant to be a tutorial, happily clicking away and not explaining the steps so as to get it to work. Also if you are on a pc is it different because when applying Vivid light all I get a crazy multicoloured screen that looks like a mosaic. And one more point at least respond to the comments below if you want more subscribers.
