Just going to give a random plug to the creator of this short film, Sarah Jolley. She also creates really good webcomics like The Property of Hate and The Princess and The Jester, which you should definitely check out it you enjoyed this. Yup, that's it.

Several things I noticed in this vid after watching it several times: - The monochrome guys faces left, the lady faces right. - 1920s oldies meets retro futurism(?) Dunno, it kinda reminds me. - I love how the guy is all straight lines while the girl is not just curvy but poses in body turns. - The Victorian style setting is a mix of purple and gray, the two main characters' dominant colors, where the two finally meet properly. - The gal doesn't have high heels but she moves on her toes. - I love how the film plays with dimensions. Guy jumping out of his film, takes the gal with him and ends up in some Victorian style setting. The Victorian setting moving like an elevator carriage in a shaft upon interacting with a door handle. We can only see what we can through the 4th wall, but for all we know, they see differently as they jump forward/side/below from film to film. - Unlike the other settings, the Wild West background and foreground doesn't have lineart. - Omigosh, dude has soft, wavy hair to the gal's round afro. He has a sharp nose to her round nose and thin lips to her full lips.

When he lets his face press into her hand in the purple room scene was the cutest

A creative story about past and future colliding, about how stepping outside your element can introduce you to new places, new people, and new experiences. (Plus, it does have a distinct resemblance to "Wall-E"). I loved it!

I know I'm super late to the party but I have to reiterate how amazing this is! Also- I can't believe no one's talking abut how creative the ideas are! Jumping/falling through film panels and pulling on the 'string' in the old film to have it stutter to a halt? Even her animation is multimedia! And every scene was unique from the others, with different textures and angles and such. Awesome work! I found TPoH ages ago, then somehow lost it and got distracted for a couple years. Recently found it again and now I'm all caught up! Hence my tracking down other videos/comics/art to fill the time haha

I've watched this at least 40 times since i found it a few days ago. I love the animation, and the entire animation is so simple and sweet. Sarah Jolley is a wonderful storyteller.

Such a beautiful classical romance With a rather odd and unexpected come out. BUT I ADORE it LIKE KITTENS AND COFFEE!!!❤❤❤❤😻😻😸😸 And I love the characters body language, it expresses their words as well as actions, they make a lovely couple. Your wonderful😊

it says something that a 3 minute film can have you coming back to watch it more and more over a hollywood piece at 2 hours! This is greatness!

What an incredible way of depicting "white" and "colored" getting along and sharing in their differences to overcome them together. A lot of work went into this and the artwork is amazing, but nothing compared to the imagination. YOU, are a pioneer!

I think in this animatic skip has another meaning. Like how old love stories go a man must present a girl with a flower first which is what the man in black and white was hoing to do but instead they skipped that part and kissed first.
