These drill bits are awesome, try using it from the side, that's how they were designed to be used. Use a mains powered drill if your cordless is lacking. 100's of videos showing how to use it correctly. 👍

@@bryancounts9036 lmao 🤣 have you ever tried this product with the appropriate drill? Obviously not, just as the KZfaqr hasn't. This product is the dogs bollox, its a fantastic tool, I bought it for my mate last year and it does exactly what it says on the tin. Battery powered drills don't have the power, try a mains electric 500W + drill and it will mince any log/tree. Or stop giving shitty advice!!🤦

@@FozzyZ28 Yeah, I bet the Milwaukee can handle it granted, corded drills like my Hilti are much better and easier. that thing makes drilling through anything a cakewalk, but I'm here thinking its a skill issue with him. I would attach the PROVIDED BAR GRIP ATTACHMENT that comes with that specific drill, and put a little muscle into it. He's drilling way too fast making the wood into powder and is stopping as soon as it catches and goes to work, the way he gives up so easily is disheartening.

I watched a couple videos on adds for a wood splitting drill bit like this one, maybe just not the same brand. They didn’t begin on the end of the log, but they went in from the side near the end and worked down toward the other end. It looked like they kind of wiggled the drill back and forth from side to side as the drilled to help the splitting action along. You might want to try it that way. I see this was from 7 months ago and so may be already a case closed. Thanks for your helpful videos!

I did not, somewhat poorly executed testing I'd admit in some respects. But I also wanted it to split logs that hadn't been split in some way, I already have a log splitter than makes quick work of fire logs into kindling. Some have said that yields some.resukts...although I just had someone tell.me even with the corded drill it wasn't working so it's a mixed bag. My take is even with the best results it's not nearly what you would truly hope it would be. Thanks for watching and commenting. Be sure to Subscribe!

It seems to me the problem is that you don't have an additional 90° handle on that drill to control the torque. It sounded like the drill could've kept going but when it was about to break your wrist you (quite understandably) released the trigger. Maybe try it again with the right drill like the guy in the sales video is using.

Great review! Don't let the know-it-all naysayers bother you. I wanted to find a review doing just as you did, working with common household tools. I didn't want to have to fire up the generator while camping to power my electric hammer drill! And your review confirmed what I thought, and saw on other channels, so great job! I'll stick to my 4 lb sledge and axe. With that combo, I can split almost anything! But suffering with this stupid arthritis, it takes me a couple hours to be able to function so I had some real hopes that the drill thingy would work. So I appreciate you exposing that drill bit for what it is. While it may work in "some" instances, overall, I'm not wasting my money on it. Thank you again for your fine review. All the best, -Mike

Thanks for sharing, I saw some video clips of them using something like that before seemed to split the wood just fine. But I think they were drilling through cedar? Or other soft woods. Otherwise the reality would show "hah ain't buying that if it can't drill/ split through any type of wood a person would have" lol. Which that always gets me, when they advertise something, they only show what they want people to see, not what they need to see smh. Inerways again thanks for sharing.

Yeah, it's better if it's already fireplace size, you do it on its side, high torque, some suggest in reverse even due to the drill pattern, and really what you get is kindling. I have a manual foot press that is faster and easier than all that. It certainly didn't perform as I had hoped either. Thanks for commenting, be sure to Subscribe!

I have one like this.. I had to start the split less than the diameter of the bit (1.4 inch) from the edge of the log so the bit does not get stuck and the log opens at the edge. You can also us a regular drill to make starter holes 1 inch apart just 1 inch deep and mayb use a wedge/hammer to further start the split. once the drill opens from the outside, work futher inside to open the log.

If that is the case and you want to use this be sure to have a powerful corded drill. Honestly though, I like our manually foot splitter from Ocean State for like $50. You just use your weight to press down. I have a video of that on my channel, you should check it out. But otherwise I would buy a small electric splitter if manual work isn't an option. Just about any can do fireplace size logs. Of course it will be like 6x the price of the manual but it will certainly do the job. Hope that helps, be sure to Subscribe!

You have to have a big hammer drill to use this thing those things are for Putnam drywall screws get a bigger drill the thing will rip through that wood. Or the one you order is a piece of garbage but I don't use a little tiny drills like that for this new wood splitter I already tried to put on a big plug-in hammer drill and it ripped through 15 inch long and cut up the three paces I put an extension on it to. No slouch that's your everyday wake power drill for inexperienced laborers.

The drill you’re using doesn’t have the torque to get it done. I have and used the Milwaukee Fuel 18v drill combo, the drill and that bit tore up all the wood I threw at it. It got stuck a couple of times when it was used in the middle of the chunks. But aside from that, the drill and the bit work great; just remember to use the handle!!

What are you reviewing, the drill driver or the splitting tool? Btw, those splitting tools don't work. They'll only end up causing wrist injuries.

The wood tool. I could have e put it on a slightly better setting, but I think it was a good representation of what most people would find if they tried using one. And I agree, I almost tweaked my wrist just doing the review 😬. Thanks for watching & the feedback. Be sure to Subscribe! **SK**

You are using the wrong drill. Its not powerfull enough. You need a 1500 w corded hammer drill with a handle@@SKLIFEstyle

This drill has an anti kickback feature that causes the motor to stop when it senses a kickback about to occur. That’s probably why it felt like it wasn’t strong enough to split the wood. Don’t be fooled by the fact that they’re battery powered because they have enough torque to break your arm. Turn this feature off, put on a pair of steel toes, get yourself some work gloves, and try again. 👍🏼

Should've used a dewalt. I have no issues with mine splitting logs.

You're supposed to do it on the side of the log (horizontally) not on the top of the log (vertical). So, you haven't shown me anything yet.

Lol fair enough. I will be doing a full test with a corded drill as well soon, and various angles and speeds of seasoned wood as well. Be sure to Subscribe to catch it when I release it! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
