Hi, thank you for sharing this video and your findings, i have a 2014 Golf GTD losing about a cup full of coolant on a long run with no signs of a leak, still have hot heaters and the pressure test proved to be ok etc..... this may well be my issue and because its only happening on longer journeys plus how hot the engine gets any coolant would quite possibly evapourate before exposing a drip or leak.

I had a same problem with my 16 octavia no one could figure out🤔🤔🤔 Cost me scame the head gasket in the end it wasn't Replace the hall engine 😭 Make sure to diagnos the problem with the right mechanic Thanks for the video it will help other people 👍👍👍

I have the same problem with my 2015 octavia 1.6 we stripped down the engine scemmed the head replaced the heater matrix thermostat and still the same after watching this Video I'm going to buy Egr Cooler see what will happen thanks for the Video

one important thing. this is not "exhaust cooler" (no point doing that) - this is coolant heater (by exhaust) - so the engine can warm up quicker.

By not replacing it does it cause problems to the manifold or turbo ? Mine is a 2 litre

I have similar problem with my 1.6 tdi octavia 2013 , but i am not sure my cooler looks like that it is boxier I think, can I tell my mechanic to bybass it will it work on the other cooler model as well? I mean is it safe to do so?

I have the same problem , coolant tank is pressurising and loosig coolant . I can see wet stain under exhaust when engine running after ca 10 mins . And also smells like dpf regeneration . Does this octavia had the same issue ? And after bypas the car drives OK ? No limp mode ?

Good morning, I am looking for advice please, I have a 2014 GTD that's leaking coolant into exhaust system ( white smoke from exhaust and coolant light comes on) , I changed the intake manifold because the charger was leaking (seen water in the throttle body through the sensor hole after removal. Got a second hand Intake manifold from scrap yard, put it on , 2 days later same issue is back again (a lot slower leak this time). I removed the plastic pipe into the throttle body and see some water in this again. Did I just get unlucky with a bad part from the scrap yard or could i have a another leak somewhere else ? Got the coolant system pressure tested after changing the intake manifold and first time the pressure went down and emptied the bottle, filled it , pressure test again and it held the pressure, however after a short drive the light came on again to top up and i seen white smoke when driving. what do you think ? Can i bypass the charger unit , is it safe to do so ? thanks a million, appreciate your help.
