1.5 is the best in segment. AC is not an issue with 1.5. As a matter of fact AC issue was resolved in 1.0 as well, but 1.5 is a class apart but it comes with a heavy price, which I reckon is not value for money.

nope 1.5 Is a bigger over squared engine which is the EVO series. It has different character and is sporty no way this Compressor Cut off issue is raleted as engine produces enough power for better cooling.

AC trips in all the cars and everywhere. There are primarily 2 reasons why AC trips. 1) If the cabin temperature reaches the threshold that you have set for your AC. So for instance if you have set temperature to be 18, then AC shall continue cooling till 18 and once it reaches 18 then it trips till the time the cabin temperature rises above 18. This essentially helps in saving fuel. 2) AC also trips if it is not getting enough power from the engine to start. SLAVIA being a 1.0 liter engine used to go in idle state with very less revs on engine while in a stand-still state or in heavy traffic and due to which the AC didn’t used to get enough power to keep its compressor running and hence it trips before reaching the threshold temperature. the combination of the inventory used by skoda and ve group is the radiator kit , cooling coil , compressor etc have poor engineering. I do recall back in 2009 , I had a fiat GP with the base model NA 1.2 ltr engine. Same issue was recognised. Initially the cabin will cool well but in peak hot summers and in bumper traffic it was a hot air balloon to get the ac cooling it wud have been better to change the entire dashboard and cooling coil etc. Company recalled the car and Compressor Kit was removed and refit from "KHale" to "Behr" kit! It was done FOC But still very poor cooling I do recommend skoda and VW cars to resolve and update their parts inventory and accomodate Denso cooling Kit. They are OEM to Toyota Kirloskar and HMIL and have excellent cooling efficiency. Paying 16.5lac upfront anr having below par cooling is a bad proposal. You have to pay for less engineerer car and only goes to show how these cars plummeted in the mid year due fuel pump and door rattling issues. But all the issues get sidelined due to Top notch engine and driving dynamics of esp skoda badge on that " Octavia " handle.

Thanks for your comment, however I beg to differ with regards to inventory. The engine is the same as that of Rapid. Its just that it was tuned differently. As I shared before that I no longer face this issue and it was just a software upgrade and no changes to inventory. I will surely come back if incase I face this issue again. The intent is to to take a wise and informed decision to buy a car. I had my apprehension while I was buying Skoda Slavia, so far I have been proven wrong all round, be it the engineering or comfort level or for that matter after sale service. Am sure Slavia still has to cover lot of ground in terms of resale value, but that is something which I will get to know in future.

@@TheVloggerVS hard fact still remains in Asia region especially India subcontinent the market is poor for all European branded cars. I sold my 8yr FIAT got peanuts worth but still if I had a chance I may have accomodated 2cars in my garage but due to personal and unforeseen circumstances I had to give it away. 5yrs down the line the car may age well but the resale of cars takes heavy beating.

Nope am not facing any issues with mileage. I recently went to Jaipur with full capcaity 5 adults and luggage summing upto 500 kgs. It gave us a mileage of of 19 @120 km/h with AC on all the way.

I am facing mileage issues ,before the update i was getting 13-14kmpl in city but now its between 9-11kmpl and i think there is not must difference in the ac effectiveness .
