I was there that day! To me it was the greatest race ever. So much energy! So much going on. The King's last race. Gordon's first race. So close in points. Nascar at it's best. The weekend was just the best ever. I will never forget this race! I will never forget this weekend! All this without the chase b/s! It's just not the same anymore.

I love these satellite feeds. So much entertainment. LOL

The raced that went from the so called old guard to the New Generation as you had the "old" ending a legendary career and the "new" making his 1st start. Plus having 6 drivers mathematically alive for the title was unheard of. The drivers who were 4th-6th were the ones who needed all the luck and didn't get it but Davey Allison,Bill Elliot and Alan Kulwicki all had realistic shots. IIRC if Bill Elliot had led the most laps he and Kulwicki would have tied for the title and Elliot would have won it due to the tie breaker of having won the most races. All in all a lot happening in this race.

Usually they wouldn't practice quite like that. But with this race having had the potential to be the biggest in Winston Cup history at the time, ESPN had the make sure the broadcast was FLAWLESS. I have some CBS races from raw feed and they rehearse but it's not as in depth as this is.
