Thanks for the upload. I wish this was the original full version. If you notice after Flares performance 2:33:30 it fades out to Q performing some kutz. There was a Q and A session with Q and D that was edited out. I think I have the original with the session in there. Thank you Jazz Funk for all these tablist vids.

The phrase or lyric cutting technique was common on bootleg recordings remixes or edits eg. Double dee & steinski lessons ., Superfly meets the shaft ,Streetsounds electro compilation albums & many of the latin rascal edits.. The earliest DJ routine with phrase , lyric cutting is Jazzy Jeff v Whiz Kid in 1986 watch?v=Ic0KulPu9xw Dj Noize expanded the technique & made it into a conversation with multiple records..But he never pioneered it...

I can hear the phunk in what is trying to be achieved. But I still lean towards dance ability. Sometimes it is to technical. Also I understand the point of the technical side, but this video was not so much about a mixed cd. (ie. Dj Premier) But more the art of it. but on the same token. Some times it sounds to much like the record is skipping. And that my friends is a different story to debate. I dunno. with out these guys we wouldn't have the different scratches as well. Bitter sweet symphony. But good documentary.

For the Record. DJ RAEDAWN invented Skratch Notation in 1999 with his 8 page book called "The Fundamentals" then he droppd a followup book called "TTM 1.0" in feb of 2000. Then he gave the worlds first lecture on the subject in spring of 2000. Skratchcon2000 happend that summer. Both Dj Radar and A-Trak Claimed to have Invented Skratch notation...Atrak plagiarized Raedawns notation and said he made it in the 90's with no proof...A female musician in the crowd calld Radar out for being off.

It was the first year Teams were allowed. They won as the team. The 92 US Finals is on KZfaq somewhere. 93 it was Qbert and MixMaster Mike as the Dream Team. 93 US finals are also on KZfaq

Haha 😂 Apparently he’d been drinking that day & was totally wasted!
@caineblais5442 жыл бұрын
I felt for Aladdin he was probably going through something. Getting out of jail is hard on the mind. You can tell that he has serious training even though his moves are sloppy. His 1989 performances are super sick and I have no doubt he could perform those routines again if he were in-practice and sober.

Yes. It didn't matter. He had a tough life after battling and touring. We probably will never see a show like this ever again unless if Q and Thudrumble do a 20 year anniv. to Skratchcon. One love.
