Skull & Bones PC Benchmark - RTX 3080 vs RX 6800 XT

In this video we'll be doing a complete performance analysis on Skull and Bones (Skull & Bones) on PC. We'll be using an Nvidia RTX 3080 and an AMD RX 6800 XT to test performance, test for stability as well as frame time consistency.
Skull and Bones is the latest title by Ubisoft, and is a spin-off of the highly acclaimed Assassin's Creed Black Flag. So how does it perform on PC?
Skull and Bones support AMD's FSR, Nvidia's DLSS, and even has some ray tracing. It however does not have frame generation of any kind, and it can really benefit a lot from frame generation tech as the game can become very CPU bound, especially in ports.

The performance on the Radeon card is just acceptable at 4:00 wemt you were going through that the frame time graph did look better huh and capped it faired somewhat better....might see about othef Radeon cards good video 👍

Yeah, the AMD card does well here, it just struggles in the city for some reason. As can be seen it's not just due to the CPU, so hopefully it can be improved with a driver or game update. The 6800 XT is also a lot more efficient than this particular 3080, which helps too 👍

Ubisoft provided me a copy of the game to test, the game indeed runs great. The problem is that the game is really boring in my opinion. You can't call this a quadriple A game

I would be hard pressed to even call this a good AA game. You know you are going to face a lot of scrutiny if you call your gams a AAAA game.

hello again,just got a cl36-46-46-100 6200mhz 32gb corsair,will it underperform in games considering these sub timings?

Well, it will underperform compared to say 6200 CL30, but in many games only by a very small margin, and also only games where you are CPU bound and not GPU bound. Some games prefer speed over latency, and in those you wont see a difference. Some prefer latency and there you'll see a marginal difference. But in most cases the difference will be single digits so I wont worry about it.

@@Mostly_Positive_Reviews im actually concerned about sub timings,cl36 itself is actually not bad at all,but the sub timings get to 100 nano seconds max,isnt that concerning?

@@elinbarrage9638 What did you have before that? The sub timings arent ideal, but whether it's worth the price of a more expensive kit depends on the games you play I think. If you mainly play competitive shooters like COD or Apex (actually not sure if Apex prefers speed or latency) then the better subtiming kit will be of benefit, but for regular gaming I really dont think it will matter too much. What GPU do you have, and what res do you play at?

14600kf? Will this be your main CPU?

I am thinking of changing this to a 7800X3D a little later down the line as funds improve, but for now it will be the CPU I use for these tests yeah. For a 6800 XT and 3080 it is more than enough, but a 14700K or 7800X3D would be ideal for future GPUs.

@@Mostly_Positive_Reviews 14600kf is fine. If you decide to change platform wait for Ryzen 7 9800X3D. For the next 2 years 14600kf should be more than capable, although it's just a 13600K rebranded. I doubt most of gamers have something better.

@@justfun5479 Haha, yeah indeed, it's a 13600K with a slightly higher power draw in real life. Only reason why I bought it over the 13600K is because it was a few bucks cheaper.
